Okay, so assuming this is it for the roster moves until at least the trade deadline - how many wins are people thinking? Marbury/Nate Q/Jamal TT/Ariza/Lee Frye/Sweets/Rose/Taylor James/Frye/Butler Well?
60+ - homecourt throughout the playoffs (ha)
51-60 - division winner, aiming for one of the top seeds
47-50 - definite division challenger, homecourt in playoffs
44-46 - solid playoff team, chance at the division
39-43 - chance at the playoffs
33-38 - Layden-esque
32 or less, worse than this year
There will be more trades, let me enjoy my Kool Aid today...

I think there will be more trades, but as is, I put 39-43 with a chance at the playoffs.

I think they will start off slow due to all the new faces but by the end of the season they will be definitely better than their record suggests. I think they will be exciting in the playoffs.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

i'll say 40 wins at most, barely missing out on the playoffs, & ending up w/a bad lottery pick.

wow, sounds familiar.

I'm honestly thinking 44-46 wins, maybe a shot at the division, probably not, but definitely a 6 or 7 seed at worst. I think the team will play better as the season progresses. I do think there will be a trade at the deadline, but I think this is the team that goes into training camp.

Replacing many of Craw's and TT's minutes with Q should vastly improve the team on offense and defense and rebounding. I was undecided between the 39 to 43 and 44 to 46 options. Plus Nate and Frye can contribute. I probably would have picked 40 to 45 if it had been an option.

I think this team will be a little different than last year's...call me crazy but I would argue we have more talent this year.

The roster has improved tremendously, but without a coach we'll still be a lottery team, like the Lakers last year. Talent isn't enough.

And I thought last years team would be better than the year before and we were actually worse in so many ways!

I say 32 or less. I'm hoping for more ping pong balls this time around. Isiah has shown that he is the best at drafting; why not go with your strength?
With JJ now hacking and bumping in the center slot for us and playing 18 minutes tops, I hope that we really suck and wind up with a top four pick next July.
Furthermore, someone brought up attaining more lottery picks for next year from some ****ty team like the Clippers. That's a great idea if we do it early! We need to suck for two years and accumulate a monster team of youth ala the Bulls. Some of the pieces are beginning to fall into place, but we need more...so why not suck for 24 more months?
So, go ahead and tear me apart for saying that...I don't give a fukk!
GO BOSOX!!!!!!
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

It will take two more years to accumulate talent and then another 3-5 years for the players to mature so we can be really good in 5-7 years, good plan!

Who knows? Homegrown youth is exciting. AND....Certainly I'd rather take my chances with Isiah DRAFTING rather than TRADING.....

I think the Knicks are a step closer to being a real contender.

Right now they are deep enough to withstand injury throughout the season......which is a huge plus.

Practice will be compeditive so the games will be compeditive because there is always going to be someone ready to come in and take your minutes......that has never been the case in NY.
No more favoritism.

What will make this team a contender depends on Isiah's next move. The Knicks need a 3 and a 4. Antoine Walker fills both of those needs by himself. I would really love for him to be a Knick. I can see the Knicks being a 50 win team if he becomes a Knick.

At least it's a plan. You got a better one?
Ah, forget it. You're ornery. I've got better things to do than read your whining.
