With the reported signing of Jerome James 7-1 275 30 yrs old center.. its obvious, that we are not re-building.. but more less re-shaping or re-tooling this team. I think Isiah still has the win now philosophy.. which "i'm on the fence" with.

But if, this is his belief.. it's a now apparent that we need to get a superstar to bring this team on a championship level. I doubt that this would happen, but immediately Kevin Garnett's name comes to mind. I ain't tryna start any rumors or bring in false hopes.. but you'd have to agree that K.G. would be the final piece to us as legitimate contenders. So here is my hypothetical way to get us a bonafide SUPERSTAR and leader!

Trade: Jerome Williams, Jamal Crawford, Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney and our two 1st rd picks next year, plus cash.

for: Kevin Garnett and Wally Szczerbiak.

Yeah it's a trade that is highly unlikely, but Isiah needs to go "gung-ho" in his efforts for making this deal or a comparable one happen for an elite player.

James/Frye/Butler
Garnett/Rose/Taylor
Szcerbiak/Lee/
Richardson/Ariza/Houston
Marbury/Robinson/Hardaway

I'm assuming he's talking about Jerome James... hopefully he is being funny though, and doesn't truly believe that

This would be an absolute dream trade for us. This would take us all the way to the conf finals. I think Herman Munster would ask for more though. I see him asking for Ariza as well.

KG, Wally for TT, JYD, Crawford, Sweetney, Ariza and 2 1st RD picks next year. They would be crazy not to accept this.

C-James
PF-KG
SF-Wally
SG-Q
PG-Marbury

That would be a formidable first 5. Then you still have the youngbloods as the 2nd unit along with Rose.

C-Frye
PF-Rose, Butler
SF-Lee
SG-??
PG-Nate

Dang! I like it!

maybe you should set your sights just a little bit lower, eh?
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Isn't this a dream fantasy trade? Why would I set my sights a little lower. You are talking to a guy who likes to keep the Jessica Alba thread alive.

I doubt that Minesota will do that trade. I'm sure they could get much better package from other teams. If they were considering rebuilding and were to deal KG & Wally to NY, I think they'd ask for expiring deals & youth - something like Penny, TT, Sweentney, Ariza, Frye, & Nate. That would leave us:

Marbury/Jackson
Wally/Craw
Q/Lee/JYD
KG/Taylor
JJ/Rose/Butler

Isiah and McHale need to lock themselves in a room and just work a deal out.

Minnesota doesn't have the chips to build a team around KG right now. They have no tradable assets good enough to get some decent players. They don't even have enough players available to start the season!!! The team has no draft picks and no future.

The Knicks actually have the youth, expiring contracts, and draft picks available to get it done. To give them a future. McHale could hold his head high knowing he did the right thing for his franchise.

Timmy, Craw, Sweets and next years draft picks. The Knicks still would have tons of players on the roster that Isiah would need to find a new home for but the foundation would still be in place.

This KG thing needs to go down.

You never know. Jabbar got traded. Wilt got traded. Shaq got traded. No reason KG can't.

Zeke! Make this happen!

it is very valid to project that KG will get traded, and it won't be for fair value.

Thats how it happens. Milwaukee did not get full value for Kareem back in the day. But in the long run, these type of trades must both give them cap space, draft picks, and some youth.

I thought Miami made a nice run for a team that guts itself for a superstar. The lakes even with Jabbar only got better after it drafted Worthy and Magic!

KG to the knicks is always plausable. If Isiah can keep stock piling picks and drafting well, he builds assets for any kind of deal, or a sign and trade!
