Grizzlies president Jerry West is already at work, attempting to swing a deal that would send Stromile Swift and Nick Anderson to the Heat for Eddie Jones.

Maybe we could trade Houston (a better 2 guard than Jones) and our 2nd Round pick for Stromile Swift, Nick Anderson, Grizz future 1st round pick, and Grizz's 2nd round pick this year.

This is a trade the Knicks could live with, but will the salaries compute???? I would love to have Spree and some others a little more athletic in the line-up and get rid of megabucks-man. The Knicks need to get into the new lottery here in NYS just to pay the line-up they have now..

I think West would consider Jones to be the better player and Houston makes too much compared to Jones...

Knicks are high on swift too. But Jerry West loves to take risks (should had made an offer to him). I dont think Jones is a big risk. I think West could go the Lamar Odom route. I think he will ship out Jason Williams.

Slomile had some nice games this past year, at 6-11, he's got potential supposedly.

Houston isn't a better 2-guard the Jones, because Jones can create for himself and plays good defense. And West wants him in Memphis. An Allan Houston and 2nd rounder for Stro Swift, Nick Anderson, a future 1st rounder, and a 2nd rounder for Memphis is real stupid. Swift wouldn't even be a lotto pick this year if he was in with this talent, he was just in one of the worst drafts of the late 90s. I doubt he'll ever develop.

West wants jones because he liked him from his LA days. He didnt want to trade him... but he had some sg named kobe sitting on the bench and they got a true sf in rice in the trade.

And Jones is a leader. Keep him there, teach Gasol and Battier and them how to play. Battier would probably move to 6th man. Apparently the Grizz want Mike Dunleavy, so with Jones teaching those guys and maybe West packaging Williams and Swift for a better PG, you could look @:
PG-Upgrade via Vanilla Chocalate and Stro
SG-Battier (6 8)
SF-Dunleavy (6 10)
PF-Gasol (7 1)
C-Lorenzen Wright

Unless Gasol bulks up, that might lead to problems due to the reliance on perimeter shooting, but thats still a good team.

I have also heard that west is looking to move Wright to upgrade to a more aggresive center. If the griz could get a veteran center who could control the post... the griz would be a team to watch.
