I think a lineup of 3 guards with forwards like Frye, Lee, Hunter, Sweetney and Rose rotating in and out could work. Course, it'd be nice to get Hunter or Kwame or Drew Gooden...or someone who is actually good. That would make it work better.
Sorry man. Not to burst your bubble. For you and anyone on this board that feels we should be fine with Marbury, Crawford, and Q Rich having the offense run mostly through them, and banking on guys like Lee, Frye, Hunter, Sweetney......even Rose, is just ridiculous. Maybe you guys are more hopeful than I thought. I'm optimistic like anyone else, but REALISTICALLY optimistic. I think good things can happen, but changes are in order.
To think a bunch of 1st and 2nd year PF's, along with a few undersized, veteran PF's and possibly a FA signing will man the paint for us over the next few years is ludicrous. It's not quantity, it's quality that matters. Frye and Lee won't be getting much Playing Time if our goal, if YOUR goal, is to make the playoffs. Be realistic. When do rookies EVER make that much of an impact on a team, especially when theyre destined to be solid role players off the bench, but nothing more than that.
In order to make a run next year, assuming that is in fact the goal of the orginization, then a BIG move needs to be made to acquire a legit big man, not your everday 5-10 MPG benchwarmers.
I guess that's the problem with some Knick fans. They're completely oblivious to reality. I like that you stick by your team no matter what, but open your eyes. We're in the Atlantic, and even with Kwame and the rest of our guys, Marbury included, we still wouldnt even be 2nd or 3rd in our DIVISION. Philly, NJ, and maybe even Boston will be better, and by a good margin. We'll STILL be missing the playoffs......again.
And THAT, my friends, is why, unless we land a Sheed-caliber PF/C soon, Marbury needs to be dealt before it's too late...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure.
And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
