Lets say its the middle of the season and the clippers are struggling again and so are we, doesn't this trade make sense?

Tim Thomas
6-10 SF from Villanova
12.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.6 apg in 27.3 minutes

Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 4.3 apg in 38.4 minutes

Mike Sweetney
6-8 PF from Georgetown
8.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 0.6 apg in 19.6 minutes

Trevor Ariza
6-8 SF from UCLA
5.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17.3 minutes

FOR

Elton Brand
6-8 PF from Duke
20.0 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.6 apg in 37.0 minutes

Corey Maggette
6-6 SG from Duke
22.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.4 apg in 36.9 minutes
Change in team outlook: -1.7 ppg, +0.9 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

No picks no cash just straight up talent for talent. I think it makes sense and I think it makes us contenders.

Steph/Nate
Q
Maggette
Brand
Frye

Thats a real serious team right there, especially considering whoever our new FA is.

unfortunately, that will never happen.

not in a trillion years.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

It's a great idea but I dont the Clippers are going to trade their 2 best players for Knicks role players, especially with the way they hate to sign players, I can't see them signing Ariza and Sweetney to new deals in a year. I could see them just trading Brand but not both him and Maggette in the same deal.

That's not really giving up a lot considering who we're getting back.

I would love to do a Wilcox for Sweetney trade, straight up. I think Wilcox will look to get more money than Sweetney. But Sweetney has to be moved this season or look to pay him his money. Cause I think he get his points this season and I can see some team making an offer.

I agree, the clippers would be giving up alot to get us where we need to be.
