I take it the game wasn't televised last night so I'll give update.
Lee - Looked very good last night. Hit the boards hard especially on the offensive end. Got to the free throw line a lot and completed them. Handles the ball out on the break a few times and is a good distributor. You can tell he doesn't trust his outside shot though. I think he's a good enough athlete to be a 3 and think this will be his position in the pros.
Frye - Looked solid last night. Don't let the fouls disturb you, the officiating in that game was an abortion. By and large the officiating has been good in the games but this was a crew I hadn't seen before and there were over 80 fouls called in the game sometimes 3 per possession. Frye banged hard on the offensive end and showed some good moves. This guy is going to be fine as long as NYC gives him a chance and they don't rush him. He's not a center...we need a big guy to protect him.
Nate - Had quick guys on him all night so he didn't blow by people like he did Saturday but he still consistantly got to the hole and also showed 3 point range. This is a tough guy and isn't going to back down from anyone.
Ariza - Needs a jumper...still can't shoot and he is being forced into reckless drives because of it.
Butler - Banged hard down low in the second half. This guy does not look like he's 20 years old in body (he needs to lose a few lbs) or aggressiveness.
Saw the 2nd half of the Celtics / Suns and saw the Clips / Piston game. Some observations:
Gerald Green didn't do anything spetacular in the half I saw him...no real impression.
Darko looked much better than he did Saturday. Played decent D on Kaman (Kaman still had a good game and is a good player) and had his moments on offense.
Maxiell looked good again...displayed decent range around 12 in.
Alex Acker, Pepperdine I believe, will make the Pistons roster; a nice player.
Jobeye Thomas, a white off guard from UNC-Charlotte absolutely lit it up last night from the 3 point range. This kid has a nice handle too and is scrappy. Doesn't look much physically but the kid can seriously shoot and get his own shot.
Antoine Wright looked good last night.

Thanks, yeah Jackie Butler isnt a flashy guy, but he has gone under the radar while we talk about everyone else. Hes a banger and effecient around the basket. Thats pretty darn good for a guy who should be a soph in CBB.
Really it seems like Nate is so much better than advertised--a guy who Im starting to believe has just as much talent as Paul or Felton. They said he passed real well last night, hes a guy that should be pegged as a 20-24 minute player for sure. where does he get his minutes---probably by cutting Marbury to 33-34[smart long term move for the team anyway] and playing 3 guard sets. I think that will be a main weapon for us, having the ability to play 3 guards a lot--Dallas does this, its very effective.
also, if you go to the next game take a hard look at Badsen. This guy is probably the elite player that went undrafted a real steal, a guy with lottery level defensive talents, but can also score pass and rebound a realy under rated guy.

I went to the game on Saturday. I had the same impressions that you had. I had the same concerns that you had about Ariza. First, I was concerned that he was passing up shots. This is the time for him to shoot the ball and he seemed hesitant. I don't think he has any confidence in his jump shot. Also, I heard he put on 10 pounds of muscle, but he still looked skinny to me. He really needs to work on his jump shot.
Nate Robinson - He is going to be a player like everyone has said. The one thing I wanted to mention was his enthusiasm. I watched him before the game started and he was so hyped to play. He was bouncing around and singing with the rap music that was being played over the loud speaker. He could not wait for the opening tip. In warm ups he was doing two handed reverse dunks with ease. I can't wait to see him playing at the Garden. During the game, I thought he handled the ball well and had a nice cross over. He passed the ball and shot the ball well.
David Lee - I was very impressed with his hops. I thought he did a good job around the basket but I am not sure if he could play the three. His jump shot is suspect. The fun part was that I was sitting by his Dad who was definitely the proud father cheering for his son.
Frye - Unfortunately, he did not play that much on Sat, but he has a nice touch on his shot. I agree he will not be able to play center. I thought he boxed out well and really tried to be tough around the boards.
Butler - I thought he worked hard on the boards but I was not impressed with his inside game.

Thanks for the info. It's good to hear your thoughts on Frye's performance. Hopefully Zeke can get a legit C & slide him to PF.
Actually Sweetney's not tall but they may team well together since Sweets could take the bruisers. Sign James and we might have the size to protect him. I'm not liking what I hear about Antoine Walker deal.
