yep exactly. even if its only 1 or 2yrs. he'll get these players going in the right direction so that the next coach could step into a situation where the players play hard and like a team

this is a weird poll. If Larry Brown is able and willing, you sign him. Even if he only coaches for a year. He is that good.
serious...i can't understand why any Knick fan wouldn't want 1 of the best coaches in the NBA coaching this team, even if it's for 1 year...a guy like LB can instill an entirely different mindset into an organization...God knows we could use a different mindset in ours.

Larry is the best for our situation. He may not play younsters in a championship caliber team like the pistons, but in a rebuilding situation he's going to be a fantastic teacher.
I see him as a key architect for the resurrection of this great franchise. I WANT LARRY BACK IN NY COACHING NATE, ARIZA, SWEETNEY AND SO ON.
I wonder what he thinks of Marbury & Crawford.

Larry is a college type teacher coach. the players stop listening to him after 2-3 years for ego sake. But he can teach these kids!

Well, afterall he's the only coach to win NCAA & NBA championships. His record speaks for itself.

you guys make some good points, as far as him being good for the youngsters...and if we bring in Swift or Brown (PLEASE!), we'll really have a young roster to teach.
So I won't be upset to get him...but I just have a very good feeling on Lambieer being HUNGRY and feel that he's going to be a great coach in the NBA. I think if we hire Brown, it's a short-term solution, whereas Lambieer could be a long term one.

What will Larry Brownbag cost (as far as compensation to Detroit)? How many years can we expect him to stay? Will he bring his assistants with him and what will that cost us? Would Westphal really want to work for Herb? Really? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Sure, Larry will cost $$$$$, but that's not gonna impact our cap, so who cares? Dolan paid $$$ for Wilkins - for WILKINS!!!! And if he waives Houston, he saves $40 mil in luxury tax. Use that money to sign Larry.

If Larry is available and wants to coach the Knicks, why not??? but I still want Laimbeer as his right hand man if he is hired...If Larry is not hired, give the job to the best candidate (Laimbeer).

I am not talking about money, I am talking about picks. I think Larry is playing this right. Let them fire him. Detroit wants him to just leave so they can get compensation... I am not giving up any picks for a guy who may only be around for half a season. I rather let a guy like Collins coach this team or even Westhphal.

Yeah, i agree. Isiah is doing the right thing by letting the detroit drama unfold on its own. No way does Isiah want to give up picks. s far as Larry's health is concerned, Isiah will make sure that he is in a shape to commmit to the Knicks franchise. Otherwise, go with Laimbeer.

I found it interesting reading Jon Givony's write-up on Darko's performance in the summer league. Larry Brown has always had the reputation of being great with young players. So maybe the problem is that Darko hasn't done anything to deserve the playing time. This write-up would tend to support that.
