whether its a blue chipper prospect from the US or atleast a reasonable blue chipper or a prospect from overseas like what the nets did with Kristic, Ilic late first/second round. You have to keep bigs coming in--you can be somewhat choosey in the draft, but as we see the market for big players is expensive and rough.

we are looking at paying HUGE dollars that isnt worth it and really do we really want Jerome James for 5 years? Once he gets that contract, the first cramp in his thigh will put him on IR and it will be a long running mistake.

I would do Hunter first if that fails, try for James...Hunter is younger and has a lot more rooms for growth...

the reason bigs are so $$ is there are so few good ones. That goes for the draft as well. I understand your mindset, but you risk passing on so many other good players. Nate Robinson could be a star. Look at how he rebounds the ball and creates his own shot. He could quickly become an 18/6/5 type player with 2 steals and playing nasty on the ball defense for 35 minutes a night. Lets just say for kool-aids sake that happens. Is that worth passing up so we can have another Lampe, Peter Ramos, Taft or Loren Woods on the roster?

the problem with hunter is thatn he has very little in terms of skill sets. There is a reason why he plays 10-13 minutes. He has trouble catching, shooting, no post moves. He does bring energy, he can finish shot block, but this guy is no starting player.

absoultely, you take the BPA, but you also have to start seriously looking at these Euro bigs to store away. the Nets took Ilic, they have Kristic late, to be honest Id rather have Taft than Lee no matter what anyone else thinks. Taft has showed well so far to. So fat Taft has been better than Frye.

i know this all sounds crazy and TOTALLY kool-aid induced but there IS a possibility that some deals have already been agreed to for a big man and we're just waiting for some dates to come around.

it's VERY possible that Q is already dealt for kwame. it's also possible we have a agreement with hunter (which i think is the case).

i mean we all know we need big men, especially AFTER the kurt deal so why would zeke not take a player like taft or blatche over a PF like lee?

i mean isiah's not a dolt, is he? there are glaring team needs and holes and i'm sure he has some stuff just waiting in the wings. heck, he could have a mo taylor + #1 for okur deal already done for all we know. gadz was not on our radar - that i know for sure. he could have hunter locked up. there's too many scenarios especially many that we have no clue what's going on but there's a reason he didn't take a project big man at #30.

You keep saying you'd rather have Taft than Lee but it's not an either/or situation. Zeke could have easily sent about $1 mil cash to one of the teams picking #31 to 41 to get their pick and added both Taft and Lee. I would have liked that.

Actually I wouldve taken Gomes over anyone at 30. I cannot believe for the sake of me that Ryan Gomes fell to 50. You know I thought wed be in the market for a Luther Head, Robinson, maybe a Morris because we had pick 30, and I didnt think Taft or Ryan Gomes was going to be pick sitting at 30, heck I thought Gomes was going 18 and taft 24 and I was dead off. Ryan Gomes especially is a first round pick and hes a BETTER player than LEE. I watched Gomes for 4 years, and I saw enough games with Lee and you have to be kidding me if they think Le is better than Gomes, fcking insane--and I truly believe this will be one opinion that comes true--Ryan Gomes will play like an NBA first round pick THIS year.
