Is Marbury for Artest and Croshere/Bender

or

Crawford, future first rounder for Artest..

or

I would even do Crawford, expiring contract for Artest, Croshere, Bender...

Adding a defensive stopper like Artest on the perimeter would be exactly what this team needs. He can also get out in transition, help us in the half court offense, and just provide us the toughness and scrappiness that this team needs. I can't see them getting a better offer than Marbury for Artest and Bender (who they're trying to move). Artest, although crazy, is a top 10 talent in this league who not only puts up big numbers, but also guards the opposing teams best player night in and night out. This is one guy I would overpay for and I know it's going to get the normal "what if he does another stupid thing and we lose him forever talk..." but it's a risk I'd definitely be willing to take. Look at the history -- yeah he gets a lot of technicals and he'll do some stupid things at times but Isiah can really get through to him in my opinion and Artest is a guy that defines New York Knick Basketball.

The additions of Nate, Q, and Artest would give us the toughness and attitude we haven't seen since the glory days...

although i like the idea of re-visiting a move for artest, i just don't see it in the cards after moving kurt already. i think zeke was shot down already so he moved kurt elsewhere.

I like the second one better, but I'd still be a bit worried about Artest's head...

I'd do the 2nd or 3rd in a heartbeat, but i just can't see it happening.

We would be in the playoffs, but we needa freaking big, very badly.

That's a really good point but I think with the emergence of Nate, an allstar 3 that is right there with Bowen and B Wallace for best defensive player in the league is exactly what Isiah would want to complement this team.

One thing is for sure -- If Indy is deadset on trading Artest I don't think they could get much better value than we'd be willing to give them. They could play Marbs or Craw next to Tinsley in the backcourt as a Reggie Miller replacement and move Jackson to the 3...

I did love this line

Artest, although crazy, is a top 10 talent in this league

Personally I totally pass on him.

He quit on his team in the 2004 playoffs.

He tried to quit on his team in the '04-'05 preseason.

He managed to "get himself quitted" for almost the entire '04-'05 season.

I don't think he's tough, I think he's troubled and is not dealing with it.

Give up Marbury? Please. To have Artest on this squad AND depend on Craw for your PG? Suicide.

Trade Craw and anything/anyone else for him? First of all I don't think Indy wants Craw, but secondly, even though that's a big plus for us talent-wise, I still think Artest is not going to have a pretty ending to his career. I don't really want a front-row seat for it.

I would like to add Artest. But there's NO WAY Indiana will trade him here. None. Not happening. Can we please stop these threads, or at least keep all the Artest talk in one sticky?

If the pacers are looking to deal Artest, I can definitely see Donnie Walsh and IT being able to work together. It doensn't have to be Bird that we talk to in order to get a deal done -- they are a basketball team too looking for the best possible talent and they're not getting anything better than Marbury for Artest at this point...

he speaks the truth. let this subject never be mentioned again, especially when it's a defensive BIG and not a defensive WING that we need.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
