i guess not bad considering the big man market.

my God, as the supply shrinks, the demand will grow

is some team going to pay hunter or james that much money--can I grow 8 inches and lose 10 years? I settle for half the MLE

Holy mackerel! That's alot of $$ for Gadzuric!
I really wanted a chance at this guy on our team, but Milw did the right thing by locking him up.
Druts.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Chad Ford must be ecstatic. They're really putting the finishing touches on that championship squad.

So why draft Bogut if you are going to over pay for Gadzuric? Do they thing they can play them both together?

Sheesh....what is wrong with this league? Also....they just overpaid Bobby Simmons too.....He's basically Desmond Mason with less hops.

F*ck, he was our best low cost option and they signed him at MLE numbers. Did Zeke look at him or try to get him? What about Pachulia, is he available now? WTF, this is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

2 questions?
1. When is BRIGGS gonna stop being too cool to post a link? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2105690
2. Would you sign Gadz to a MLE contract worth more than 36 million to acquire him?

gadz is DEFINITELY worth that money. especially in this market.

he's a 25 min all out hustle player from the C spot that WILL rebound and WILL block shots. i would EASILY pay $6/year for that considering malik, jyd, and mo all make more.

ugghh, if james is the guy, for more than a 2 year deal, i wouldn't like it. the only thing we could hope is that he's an early riser so he can beat sweets to the buffet table and just leave scraps for him.

i think we're going sign hunter for 3-4 years at $3 mil/year

Teams almost always overpay to keep their FAs. They feel the cost of losing the player for nothing is greater than the cost of overpaying. This has been going on for years now. It's why there will always be Shandon Andersons, Clearance Weatherspoons, Travis Knights, etc

now they need to parlay desmond mason into a PF - maybe desmond for wilcox or something like that. or possibly a PG since they need insurance for tj.

That's the MINIMUM of what we'll give Hunter. And he'll still be a bargain.

also, to people thinking we could have gotten Gadz for a MLE - the MLE is only 5yrs $30 million now under the new CBA. Milwaukee went over the MLE to re-sign him.

there's no such thing as a cheap big man.

Yes.

yeah, they'll be much better, maybe even close to 50 wins. I like what Milwaukee has done actually, but it's insane to call them championship contenders...

I'd be surprised if Bogut doesn't dominate in summer league.

Zeke needs to stop F..ing around and offer a contract to Hunter...I am sorry, Washington will not deal Kwame to an eastern conference team...Forget about him.........Go cheap and add other pieces to complement what we have.....

my God, as the supply shrinks, the demand will grow

Supply & demand goes both ways. Last year, I heard this same argument being made when guys like Adonyle Foyle were getting signed to ridiculous deals but this started to change as the Free-Agent season came close to the end. As more players sign contracts, teams run our of roster spots and cap room, hence making demand go down and then lowering prices. So when teams who need players like the ones we covet decrease, and teams who might have signed them get over the cap then their value decreases and they can be signed for less.

Of course, this is a risky way to play the market, but it has been known to work. Much depends upon how desperate your organization is to sign players or worried that others will sweep the player from underneath your grasp. I thought Isiah played his hand pretty well last off-season, with regards to the Crawford trade, in particular.

The key factor in the Crawford trade was that there were VERY FEW other parties interested in Craw, which really leads me to believe we are going for someone like Kwame, since he has been so unsanctimoniuously bashed by the Wizards, and does not appear to be attracting interest from other teams. I assume he does not want to return there, and they probably want to get rid of him as well...

Sounds an awful lot like the Craw deal last year...
