But what can they get in return? Cap room? Talent? You decide.

how does having 7 players under contract force Minnesota to trade their franchise player? don't you think it would make alot more sense for them to trade guys like Cassell & Sczerbiak instead?

What can they get for those guys? Minnesota needs to use the exemption and hope they can get two players for Wally or Sam which ain't happening.

They should really consider trading KG....they could get 3 good player easy.

so let me get this straight...since Cassell & Wally aren't high on team's wish lists, they should give up their franchise player to fill the roster quota? do the Knicks have to trade Marbury now too since they now have several players under contract & no one wants TT, Penny or Mo T? what kind of logic is that?

should they consider trading KG? maybe...if it will get them a couple of young studs that can help form their core for the next 10 years...if not, what sense does it make for them to trade away 1 of the top 3 players in the game?

Fact is, and im speaking hypothetically here, if we offered them huge cap space (i,e, TT and Penny) plus all the picks we can possibly giove them, plus say, Crawford and Sweetney, even Ariza at a push, they would have enormous cap space in time for guys like Yao etc. They would have a core of nice young players via the draft and via trades, and they would be in a great position for the Greg Oden sweepstakes. Now thats rebuilding in one year.

As opposed to keeping KG, having no cap space next year, and having to scrap in the doldrums of the West cuz they cant afford to find anyone to play with him. See my point?

Tim, Mo Taylor, and Crawford for KG, Wally, and Hoiberg works on Real GM.

Maybe the Knicks throw in a future 1st rounder for 2006.

Just throwing that out there......I would be looking to get under the cap if I was Minnesota. They need to start over fresh.
