9 teams all together are after Toine...but Boston doesn't want to retain him. What in the world is going on? If he is that bad, why is he in such high demand????

I can't understand either. He is a chucker beyond the arc and in my eyes his post play sucks. But I think because now the free agents out there is so weak in regards to a named player it is the best thing out there.

That is what I don't like about the NBA...Too many players that are capable are not getting fair value, but guys like: TT, Walker, and perhaps underachiever like Kwame will get a huge pay check for his potentials alone...

He is a legitimate scorer and there is a slight chance that he can be had for the low-low, so there will be---there has to be---interest from NBA teams.

Antoine Walker is still a productive player.

Thanx, you beat me to it. He's not what we need, because we have no legitmate bigs, but he puts the ball in the hole from many places on the court, and he's a big time player as well. Hes also very versatile.

Houston would be a perfect fit for him becaus ethey need a 3rd option, especially one as versatile as him. I hope thats where he goes, it would make Houston real contenders. They need a pg too, but his addition would help them alot.

He would drive van gundy nuts! I'd watch the games just to see Jeff squirm and generally look unconfortable as 3's fly up from around the court!

Well when you think about it, T-mac wouldn't be a JVG type of player either but he made it work out of neccesity. Toine can play controlled on offense, its his defense that would probably make JVG lose those last few strands of hair he is holding on to. You make a good point tho, because if he did jack those 3's up, JVG would probably quit on them mid-season.

BUT, to Toines credit, do you remmeber how well he was playing in Dallas when he was there. He was a triple-double waiting to happen on a nightly basis. He slimmed down alot too. Houston could really use that Toine.

Who said he is that bad? Is that your opinion? Toine has had an EXCELLENT NBA career: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/antoine_walker/?nav=page

Yes, he has earned a well deserved rep for chucking, but that was the Celtics' game plan at that time. Before the Celtics started running and gunning he lived in the post and was very good at it. Add 3 all-star games and I am mystified that anyone thinks he is not a very good player.

I don't know what you are talking about, comparing AW to TT. AW would have been the best forward on our team during ANY SEASON OF HIS CAREER, including last year.

Indeed, comparing Kwame to TT is not fair either to TT. As much of a bum TT is, he is much more accomplished than Kwame.

He may not be "what we need", but if we could get him cheap, I would take him on the Knicks in a second, he would definitely improve this team, from outside and in the post, and he would be our most versatile player. You know how everybody is always saying about one big player and another: "He handles the ball like a guard!" Well in Antoine's case this is true.

Toine is not as bad as people on this board make him out to be. Walker fills out the boxscore every night and he is a legit scoring threat. Yes, we all know he takes way too many 3's but if you look at the year that he played in Dallas you will see that he take alot less 3s then he had in previous years. The Toine before he was dealt away from the Celtics version was in Jim O'Briens system that allowed him to chuck away from 3 as much as he pleased and he did. With all that being said, I wouldn't want the Knicks to get him becuase we need a post scoring threat not another shooter but he would fit in nicely on alot of teams, I'm not sure why the Suns haven't extended a contract to him, he would be killer in that system.

getting antonie walker would only further our destiny of becoming the worst FG% team with possibly the worst team defense in the league

i dont care what price our what type of stats A walker has, he is an undiscplined, inconsistent low % player who commands the ball to much and is also a porous defender.

I can see it now

C-Frye
F Walker
f-Thomas
G Richardson
G Starbury

we will be giving up 108 points a game... Look what the Pistons and the Spurs give up. If you team is not based on defense and rebounding--you are not winn9ing championships. I think it speaks volumes that Walker moves around almost yearly now. he'll have his 28 point 13reb 6 assist games and come back command the ball and go 3-17

I don't think that many teams are interested. I just think his agent is doing a good job.
