"With the Rockets owners of the first pick, it's now easier to doubt a Yao Ming conspiracy. But, had the last number been a 6, well then we've got controversy. And there would be a lot more explaining to do. The New York Knicks, a team in the league's largest market and one of two teams to give Ming a private workout, only had a 4.4 percent chance of getting the first pick. But, get this, the Knicks had combination No. 907 -- 13, 8, 11, 6."

conspiracy anyway - next year if NY is in the lotto, we win lebron. Also - Houston did the WORST in attendance this year and is the 4th biggest "NBA" city. They needed the #1 pick, and Stern gave it to them.

yeah, I say that conspiracy theories can still be supported. Remember San Antonio had the same predicament - until they got Duncan: attendance down and the owners wanted to close shop.
