Let's make this a long list of mock drafts until the draft in the end of June. Here's mine for the lotto:
.) Houston Rockets - Yao Ming (Center/China) WHY?-Rudy loves foreign guys and he's had luck with a foreign center before.
.) Chicago Bulls - Mike Dunleavy (Small Forward/Duke) WHY?-According to ESPN Insider, Krause loves the similarities between Dunleavy and Bird. He already has a 2-guard in Rose, a power forward in Chandler, and a center in Curry. Might take JWill though.
.) Golden State Warriors - Jay Williams (Point Guard/Duke) WHY?-A backcourt of JWill and JRich would be awesome. If Williams goes to the Bulls @ 2, then they could take Dunleavy at 3, keep Arenas at point guard, keep Jamison at power forward, and trade Fortson.
.) Memphis Grizzlies - Mybyner Hilario (Power forward/Brazil) WHY?-West is great at finding diamonds in the rough. A 2,3,4 of Battier (6 8), Gasol (7 1), and Hilaro (6 10) is awesome and you could package Dickerson and Swift here and get some talent in return. Also, his strength would match Gasol's finesse perfectly.
.) Denver Nuggets - DaJuan Wagner (Shooting Guard/Memphis) WHY?-Thinnest backcourt in the league, Wagner can play both positions and gives them instant scoring to match McDyess's down low.
.) Cleveland Cavs - Drew Gooden (Power Forward/Kansas) WHY?-They have point guard set with 'Dre Miller. Ricky Davis looked good at 2-guard, so Gooden should fit in well downlow. However, there is usually one team that always botches a firstrounder, so Cleveland could mess it up and take Jared Jeffries.
.) New York Knicks - Chris Wilcox (Power Forward/Maryland) WHY?-Knicks need frontcourt help badly, and he was number three on their list behind Ming and Williams, who almost definitely will be gone. (This might not be the case, as Eddie Griffin, a possible number 1, dropped to 7 so we'll all keep our fingers crossed). Everyone on the Knicks want help up front, and the strength of Wilcox with the finesse of Camby would be pretty nice.
.) LA Clippers - Nickoloz Tskitishvili (Small Forward/Georgia) WHY?-Difficult pick for the Clips, who might trade it since they have 2-guard (Richardson), small forward (Maggette), and power forward (Brand) all set. McInnis and the Kandi Man are free agents, but there isn't a good enough point guard to pick here and their other pick in the lotto could be used on Borchardt to backup. They also have Darius Miles off the bench, so they might trade it, but Tskitishvili can apparently play 2-guard and small forward, and they might not be able to pass up having him, Maggette, and Miles all being able to play 2 to 3 positions.
.) Phoenix Suns - Qyntel Woods (Shooting Guard/Northeast CC) WHY?-Have point guard and small forward down with Marbury and Marion, and Penny is on his last legs. Wouldn't be that much of a gamble this late in the lottery. Also, this would be a pretty athletic 1,2,3 lineup.
.) Miami Heat - Caron Butler (Small Forward/UCONN) WHY?-Riley would like his toughness and versatility. Miami needs a lot though.
.) Washington Wizards - Amare Stoudemire (Power Forward/HS) WHY?-Jordan might trade up if he wants someone badly, but Stoudemire and Brown would mean the Wiz could wait and see who develops better, and then trade the other. The only position they wouldn't pick would be 2-guard, as they have Rip Hamilton there.
.) LA Clippers - Curtis Borchardt (Center/Stanford WHY?-Use him as insurance in case Olowkandi leaves.
.) Milwaukee Bucks - Chris Marcus (Center/Western Kentucky) WHY?-A big body down low, could help them in the East. Good defender, which George Karl would like.
