I'm sure you will here about it. If Blatche plays well it will be at least 2-3 weeks of daily threads on why we didnt pick this guy.

I'm on vaca so I will miss those fun threads. Keep everyone in line while I am gone

I have nothing else to do, might as well throw on the MSG and watch it.

I'll post some updates.

LongIslandKnicks and I were both pulling for Blatche at pick 30, he would've been a fun guy to throw in the D League and follow, but oh well, I've never even seen him play, I was just going by word of mouth.

Hopefully Nate dominates again.

Just from the looks of it, Nate could be the greatest player at 5-7 I've ever seen, with the exception of maybe Michael Adams. I think at the very least, he has Spud Webb potential. And IMO, he's better talent-wise than Earl Boykins is now...

Very impressed by that pick so far...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Spud Web nothing. Spud was a skinny guy that could fly. Nate is a football player. He's a nasty defensive back that plays hoops like he's on the grid iron.

Yes, correct. I hope David Lee will show something tonight. He seem's like he has the talent but needs to show it.

did you ever watch Spud?? That guy was more than just a dunk or two. He could break down defenses, and played bigger on D than his size would suggest. He was a pest. That said, I think Nate will, in the long run, be BETTER, simply b/c he's a more physical player.
Only time will tell, but he could end up being the steal of this draft, along /w/ Green and Granger...

I alway thought Spud was overrated IMO. As far as small guys go Mugsy was a better BB player. I think Boykins is better than Webb.

He was overrated, but that doesnt mean he wasn't as good as I'm saying. A 5-6 player that could do as much as he did was a first back then, as it still is know, though more of a rareity nowadays.

Spud could really disturb defenses back then, but I think Michael Adams was better - never got the respect. Nate Robinson is gonna be something special.

Watching the game:

David Lee showing his aggressiveness and hops. I like that Nate gets involved, but always gives up the ball early, even if it's just to have his teammates touch the ball.

Frye given the early seat after picking up 2 quick fouls. Would like to see him be more assertive and have Lee's confidence.

Fuller and Blatche for Washington look good...

Update: Ariza with a nasty dunk

Nate with a sweet 3 from Ariza. Ariza seems to gel well with everyone.

Wow --- Robinson with a nasty reverse layup. Crowd went wild. Very Jordan reminiscent. This kid is amazing...

Oh yeah......

David Lee's show right away....he goes baseline for a two handed reverse jam.

Just as I type he got another impressive dunk.

He can really put it on the floor.

7pts so far in the first quarter. David Lee needs the playing time in the regular season.

Also in a side note Jackie Butler is a bully. He was doing the tango with Peter John Ramos who is 7'3". He looks and plays so much like Sweets.

Jackie Butler keeps pushing around this bum, PJ Ramos.

On the last three plays, Robinson drilled a 3 with a guy in his face, then took a charge and got the Knicks the ball back. When he got the ball back, he went baseline, up-and-under and-1.

This guy is great.

anyway, Nate is explosive just like Marbury. And Lee is still being very aggressive. So far, I'm underwhelmed by Frye and Ariza...
