MIL
S & T Dan Gadzuric
Desmond Mason
06 #1

NY
Sweetney
Crawford

Milwaukee:
Balances out their roster using a good backup center and a good backup swingman, for a much needed PF who can rebound, score in the paint, and a combo guard who can distribute, shoot, and play well in an uptempo game. They don't really have a pg so Craw adds to their backcourt which is pretty lethal with Craw, Redd and Simmons. Add Bogut to that miz and they are definitely a playoff team.

Milwaukee gets the best player in Craw, who is also younger and more refined than Mason. Dan and sweets are comparable, and although Dan is 6-11 and blocks shots, hes 26 and will likely never be as good as Sweets is gonna get on offense. This is why they include the pick. They get the better younger players which balance out their roster.

NY:
Gets a center who can rebound and block shots and push Frye to the 4 which seems to be a better fit for him. AND they get a swingman who realy is comfortable playing the 2 or 3 and is a helluva defender. While Mason isn't as skilled as craw, he's bigger, stronger, and a way better defender, and this also allows Q to play 2 where he is more comfortable.

Since NY gives up the younger players who are both more skilled than the players we got for them, Milwaukee gives us a pick. We balance out our roster with some defense and shotblocking, and get an extra pick next year in the first round which potentially makes 3 first rounders.

I don't think it will happen but it seems like it makes sense to me, what do you guys think?

I think the problem is this:

It doesnt work cap-wise b/c Mason makes more than Crawford, and Gadzuric will almost certainly make more than Sweetney. The other thing is that, with Milwaukee set to try and make this team a real contender, I think they'd rather just keep both b/c Gadzuric will come relatively cheap, and Mason can play SF to split minutes with Simmons. I agree Crawford would be interesting for them since they lack a good PG(no guarantee TJ Ford will come back). But the offer would have to change, to make the salaries closer, and if anything, WE'D have to throw in the pick.

That said, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But IF AND ONLY IF, Marbury was traded. Q and Mason can't really share minutes. In that situation, if we could trade Steph for a talented PG and some cap space, I'd go along with the whole thing.

I guess we're getting ahead of ourselves. Since I know how much each player makes on this team, I don't see a deal being able to go down. But it was a good idea no doubt.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Also I'm sure a deal could be struck with a team like Wasington where a Kwame + filler/ Mason swap was in order. But that's just speculation...

There is no way in hell Milkwalkee does this. Mason is just as valuable as crawford (with a better defense and contract). Gadzuric is more valuable than Sweetney right now. And then they add a #1. This is unrealistic.

No way Milwaukee does this. Mason is a defender who is part of the core of the team with Bogut and Redd. Add TJ Ford to the core if he can ever get healthy. What do they need Crawford for with Redd? And TJ Ford is a true point guard unlike Crawford. And they would have to give a #1 too? Sure....
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I guess I am the only one here who thinks craw is a better (more skilled player than Mason). Mason is athletic as hell with a decent jumper. Craw is an undeveloped player with alot of talent who is putting up better numbers. Not to mention Mason is 28 and craw is 24-5. Mason is still raw, if he were as good as you all are saying he wouldn't be coming off the bench behind Simmons, and he will be. oh well.
