it will be interesting to see what he does.
his major neagtive is lack of game time flow, since he barely played 25 games in HS all together. He transferred once and couldnt play his soph year, and was allowed to play in a certain number of games as a junior and was hurt half the yea as a senior, so game time flow is probably the most important aspect of his development. I wouldnt put # beside him yet, but if we were devloping him, id like to see it at a 25-30 minute clip right away, and less than 20 on the b-B. Its highly likely he will have a large number of fouls and will need to also learn rebounding nuasances, how to keep his hands up on the D instead of lunging at fakes or his man. His post up ability will be very good right from the start. I think what you will see is perhaps a highlight play or two that include a massive jam off a spin move from a posy up, but in all, youre probably looking at 8 points 6 reb 1 block in 26 minutes with 7-8 fouls

7-8 fouls, huh? Well you just educated me, I didn't realize you couldn't foul out of a summer league game.

you can't foul out. it is a technical foul if you pick up your 7th foul though. Dwight Howard had 7 fouls last night. Couldn't contain Channing.

I think Bynum is going to take a very LONG time. He's not a basketball player. Nowhere close. And training in a gym, even with a few other bigs, does not prepare you for NBA basketball. Ask Michael Olowokandi.

Who cares man? Arent you interested in how the lottery picks do in general?

Seems like folks are afraid to death that the guys picked after Frye will outshine him. Maybe you need to be alittle more confident in what was the best pick in your opinion.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I don't think any posters here don't care or are afraid to know how the other lottery picks do. I just think it's ridiculous when a large amount of the recent threads go off topic and start in on the same GD thing.

It's worthy of discussion for sure so...why not start a...."sticky thread" for it.

Other lottery picks thread.....Celtics and Laker threads.....all sticky.

I'm sure many baksetball fans are interested in how other lottery picks do, and yes it would make for a nice thread, on the NBA forum. Which is a click away. So don't understand your point.

I think you have to respect that some people really wanted to draft someone else at 8. And the reason it keeps coming up is because the Draft and Summerleague is all there's to talk about in the offseason. It should stop once the season starts and we start talking about basketball. Except for the "I told you so's"

What do you want, every post to be I think Nate might be a little better than we thought, Frye should be fine as long as he makes a conscious effort to stay within 12 feet and rebounds the ball with two hands. After viewing David Lee closely, I dont see where he fits and I would rank him last in terms of what we have in talent on the Knicks. He is not better than JYD, Malik, Trevor Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Mo taylor so he may have been a pick that they did not put enough thought process into. yeha hes a character guy, yeah hes a 5 year player, but when the bottom line comes down, he is a less talented replication of what we have.

So now do you want to talk about the same thing on every post? OR maybe you can take the intiative to ignore something you dont want to talk about or have 0 interest in?

we'll never agree because some people are content with just watching basketball and the Knicks and others want them to win more than anything and watch quality basketball not a team that collapses every game because they don't have anyone who can score inside in the 4th quarter

Do you know what you are saying? You are questioning everyone that doesnt agree with your plan. You are guilty of the same behavior you dislike in others.

Listen, right or wrong I'll always be indebted to you for posting play-by-play for every game after Time-Warner went down last season.

And - no matter how cranky you are now I know you're gonna be screamin' your ass off for the Knicks on the game threads once the season starts!!

well, there is a NY Knicks forum and a NBA forum. unless there is no point to the nba forum, i believe all this non-Knick related information belongs in there.

yeah I'll get stupid and cheery praying for a win every game early on once the season starts before going into tank mode again. Except maybe this time we'll finally get rid of overpaid players and TRULY start rebuilding with HIGH draft picks.

As of right now I'm actually looking forward to next years draft more than this season...its a pretty sad reality for me

Marv, this guy is going to make the off season miserable for me. He will keep saying the same things everytime the Knicks come up!
