Star Ledger reports today that Isiah "has narrowed his focus to two unrestricted free agents, believed to be big men Stromile Swift and Jerome James... Isiah said, "if I can add either one of those players, it would be a good addition in the off season because both of those players can block shots."
James blocked 4.01 shots per 48 minutes last year, seventh in the NBA.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

How nany blocks per the minutes he actually got and where was he ranked?

James is a very good rebounder, better than 1 every four. He's a good addition.

1.4 blocks per game in 16 minutes. Even in 16 minutes a game, he blocked more shots than anyone on the Knicks last year.

They are putting words in his mouth.

Gus Johnson was interviewing Isiah and he didn't mention any names. Gus made the comment jokingly that Isiah was talking about Swift and James. It was quick.

Still it's a good guess on Gus' part........but just to make it clear....Isiah didn't say he was going after Stromile or Jerome James.

I particularly want Jerome James. He showed me a nasty side against San Antonio that mad him a Knick without a contract.

I've been saying for years that he can play and he has good post moves, and agility. His "length and gurth"(that is so gay) would really make the Knicks better. It would allow the Knicks to tandem him with Frye until Frye can learn the pro game.

James has a mean streak, and our boys can feed off of that...that is why we need Laimbeer to coach the Knicks...

I second that!!!

The Knicks have plenty of high energy guys coming into this season and Isiah might not be finished yet.

Laimbeer is a high energy person. You can tell from his comments to the media. He said earlier in the year that he would make the decision to coach in the NBA after his daughter graduated high school......which was in a few days, lol. Today he is quoted as saying "All I does is win". Awesome.

Bring in James!!!! and build a team filled with charecter guys and watch MSG blow it's top off!!!

The link that says "Laimber "'All I Do is Win'" makes reference to it. It's from the Post.

He should have been on it already. I'm telling you guys, Jerome did this year a few years ago when he was in a contract year and Seattle paid him big bucks and immediately after he got that contract he went back to being a crap player again. This year was the same exact thing!!!!! Don't fall into this guys trap. Who wants a player that has never averaged then 5ppg or 5rpg for a season anyway. NO THANKS!

Isiah said, "if I can add either one of those players, it would be a good addition in the off season because both of those players can block shots."

What Isiah said after trading for Nazr and TT, "Blocked shots are an overrated statistic."

Of course he also said that you couldn't rebuild in NY and that he wasn't going to build through the draft. How can you tell when Isiah's lying? He opens his mouth. But you guys keep believing everything that he says as if its gospel.

Maybe that's because no one here is obsessed with him. All I care about is the product and so far so good. We're younger than we've ever been and have more potential than at any point. Our age average use to be 31 consistantly. I don't give a damn how he does it, as long as it gets done.

of course isles, you're the only one that knows what's going on and we're all in a deep isiah hypnosis.

we're all reacting by what we're seeing in action.

so far, the results has been awful.

but guess what, he is building this team in his own way.

you got 6 players under the age of 25 all added within the past 2 years. it's a slow rebuild BUT it is a rebuild.

nobody is gullible enough to believe anything he says so stop bringing up every single thing he said.
