Everyone keeps talking about nate as a role player but as I remember stoudamire was roy. Stoudamire is listed as 5'10" 175. Nate is slighty shorter but with a better basketball body. Who remembers when stoudamire came into the league and the draft what the thoughts behind him where? Maybe nate has a bigger future than we think.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Mighty Mouse was seen as more of a point than Nate. MM was a pocket-Isiah, penetrate find the open man, could also score when he needed to but Nate seems to be seen as the opposite - a guy whose scoring is his main forte rather than his creating and dishing. MM was a real revelation his rookie year, I don't think too mnay people predicted ROY for him. But i wouldn't make any comparisons in anticipating Nates's rookie year - MM came onto a pathetic expansion team, he hardly had mMrbury, Crawford and Richardson ahead of him, not to mention God forbid Houston and Penniless.

I was thinking about this comparison too. It seems like MM was thought of very highly when he was drafted - didn't he go lotto? So there were higher expectations for him. Nate seems to be a better pure athlete in terms of strength and vertical and all that. I guess one hope is that Nate brings more savvy and leadership than MM. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but it seems to me that MM has had problems with leadership and court savvy.

The other obvious comparison is Earl B.

Damon is better point blank. Damon is capable has put up 50 points in a game. That is something some of the top players in the NBA are not capable of. The is also on record of put up numberous triple doubles. I remember him putting up a huge triple double against Gary Payton. He also can hit the three and score. I like Nate but his shooting is not that good. Splitting minutes in Portland has damage Damon's career from the player is was supposed to be.

Damon was more of a pure shooter in college and had a better handle than Nate

Which are two very big problems for somebody that is undersized. However its still very impressive that he was recruited as a walkon and ended up the best player on a team that secured a number one seed.

Damon is a far better shooter but Nate is, overall the better athlete.

If this guy(nate) were 6'1, he'd be top 3 or 4 in the 2005 draft.. He is unbelievably quick and plays with alot of heart..

Nate can also throw it down with 2 hands but i don't think i ever saw Damon dunk..

Nate is the new version of the MICROWAVE AKA Vinnie Johnson! That will be his role.

Isiah may want him as a starter later on in his career...

I think out of the 3 picks, Nate will be the best player.

He hits threes, plays with alot of passion, and imagine MSG exploding when he dunks on someone. He will give the team character, and will make players around him better. But it may take a year or two.

Damon Stoudamire was great early on, but fat contracts, fat heads, and fat blunts really ruined his career.

stop Lying,

Vinnie Johnson was 6'2 and a solid 200 pounds and He could score against anyone.

didn't you love how MM and Sheed would ALWAYS run into the cops when they were blazin' or playing around with their guns.
