I've always been reasonably impressed with this player. He is only 21 years old and will be an RFA. He's kind of an anti-european player...he's basically a physical banger type who is tough on the boards and a physical presence on D. 6-11 265, averaged 6.5 pts, 5.1 boards in about 18.9 mins. Over 38 mins that's something like 13 and 10.2. Not bad. He was also Milwaukee's best +/- player last year at +4.3. I feel like he should at least be able to reach Nazr type numbers as a 25-30 min player, and has a good deal of upside.

Milwaukee will have a tough time resigning both Gadzuric and Pachulia since they have to re-sign Redd, and they have Bogut coming in. If we throw 3 mil of the MLE at this guy would they match it? I think its worth a shot.

Yeah from what I have seen of this guy the few times I saw him play he seemed like a nice backup quality big who can play both 4 and 5.

He rebounds well, and has nice touch around the basket, like most Euro bigs do if they actually play around the basket.

He should also be easily obtainable and chip.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Nice find. He'd be a good signing. Sometimes when you're filling out a team, instead of trying to hit a home run, go for a single - someone who isn't spectacular but quietly fits in.

Another thing I liked in his stats was that he goes to the line a lot. He averaged 4.8 field goal attempts and took an average of 2.5 foul shots.

They might have no choice.
They've got Bogut. That's a commitment.
They've got calvin Booth signed up for 2years.
Then there's Gadzuric who they really like too.
Are they going to have the money and the minutes for Zaza?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Gadz will go, hes older and has less upside. They like Pachulia more than Gadz from what I read earlier in the season.

We'll see. If they like Pachulia more it just means we have a better shot at Gadz. Pachulia's a little more under the radar, but is certainly one to consider, to at the very least, force Milwaukee's hand.

I like that situation. Either way, we win if we go for the one they decide not to keep.

Exactly...I see it as win-win. The Bucks are going to have to expend a lot of time, energy and money re-signing Redd. After drafting Bogut, I really can't see a scenario where Pachulia and Gadz are brought back.

After giving Gadz 6 mil per I highly doubt they will match anything greater than 3 mil per or greater. Now is the time to offer him something like 3 years 10.5 mil.

He's worth the money more than James... they can match, so we'd have to overpay a little. His defense sounds good... his blocked shots per game.. not so good. He's worth a run.

Im pretty sure

A they will just keep him

B workout a S+T where they get a PF back

I think even if a team offered an MLE they will match it. They have options to get rid of Booth by using draft picks to entice teams under the cap.

actually za za is a perfect eample of what i mean by keeping your eyes open on late 1s and 2nd round picks. Id bet we wouldve given pick 30 for him this year for sure.

I really like the fact that, in limited minutes, this guy is able to average more than a steal and a block a game. However, Milwaukee can always simply offer part of THEIR mid-level. Seeing as how he's restricted, we would have to offer more, and I don't see that happening. He's another guy that's a risk. The potential's obviously there though.

With the Bucks really needing any PF they can get, I can't see why they wouldn't resign him on the cheap, especially when he has as much promise as we see he does...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Awesome thread VDes... whenever I have watched ZaZa i was always impressed with his gritty attitude. I remember one time when the Knicks and Bucks played this last season that TT was getting into it with Zaza becuase Zaza was playing extremely hard and was hellbent on throwing his weight around. He might be a nice pickup and turnout to be a type of Nocionni on the front line which would be nice, but only if some of the glut is moved.
