I liked Rebraca when he was healthy, but I honestly know absolutely nothing about Jin. What interests you about him?

I don't know much about Ha Seung Jin but I think you've mentioned him before. Could you tell us more about him, Briggs?

he caught my eye in one of the last games of the season on NBAPASS The Blazers gave him run in their last couple of games, and he showed a real nice touch at the basket, and while he wasnt the most athletic looking thing, he did look like he had some real nice fundamentals and body control for a guy 7-3 310. He looks like a guy who could clog the lane and actually could be a very high % scorer with a pretty sizeable upsid to him, I think he is also something like 19. But the game I saw he did put up double digits and was pretty impresive doing so. When you see a guy that big play like that, you remember it. the Blazers have to pay Joel P next year and are in to Ratliff for 11mm, maybe this is a chance to take a risk here and put up jus enough money to take a chance on him. You bring in a vet like Rebraca who can give you a quality 20 minutes and work in JIN. In this market, it's a worthy risk. Whats the worst thing that can happen? He busts and we are out 3.5mm a year for 3? so what, we saved more in savings with houstons cut. in this C market a reasonable risk is a very viable path. No risk no reward.

I liked Rebracca when he was healthy also... bulky and skilled, nice touch around the basket.

what are we trying to accomplish here though? I'm looking to add a veteran that can defend the 5, but wont dominate minutes because we have young guys. Cliff Robinson and Tony Battie are 2 guys that jump out at me.

3 million for Ha Seung Jin is pushing it considering he's had one good game in his career.

Didier Mgemba got 2 mm from Dallas and had barley any experience. This is a 7-3 310 guy who does have nice skills. 3mm a year for limited years may be enough to let Portland pass and 3mm a year is still a low end contract.

Starting C go for 10mm and up. 3mm is risk capitol. You cant get him for 1mm, there arent 100 options out there. We all expect that all these guys are going to run at the Knicks. If we were a team ready for the big time, Id say no, but we are more in a rebuilding phase. It doesnt make sense to get jerome James right now for 5-6mm a year. Get a solid pro vet who can play 20 minutes like Rebraca for 2mm and see if you can steal Jin

fishmike, Id keep Rebraca for the veteran club and put JIN in the NBDL. You say 2.5mm-3mm is a lot for a project? Well thats what it costs major league teams in bonuses just to sign their picks 6-10-13mm, some guys like Drew henson get huge payouts and never make it. You need a number that is reasonable to th Knicks yet possibly excessive for what the balzers are paying out now. Im just giving an example, Im not screaming on this one, this will be a one post subject:>)

Zeljko Rebraca would be a good pick up for the Knicks.

I've watched alot of Clippers games this past season and Rebraca is a player who rebounds the ball, well.

Jin? Isn't that the guy that won all those freestyle battles on 106 & park? I thought he was a rapper? Remember the song, Learn Chinese. i loved it

Thats a nice plan if you want to risk on a very young center who looks to be talented. Don't know if he had just a good game or what, but at this point, with the NBDL ready to help the NBA, its a nice plan to look for a center, sign him, send him to the minors and hope your low risk pays off.

As long as we're going out of the box, I'd like to mention Joe Przybilla. In 24.4 mpg last season, he averaged 6.4 points, 7.7 boards and 2.14 blocks. Yes, that's 2.14 blocks. Of course, Portland may not want to trade him.

I thought Przybilla was going to re-sign.
