This is the thread for MLE or sign and trade talk only. Were in rebuilding mode, and Zeke plan is to get Bigger, Younger, Faster and Longer.

Fits the new plan / Pros / Cons /

***Kwame Brown (Still young has alot of potental)(Lacks motivation)

***Eddy Curry (Still young has alot of potental)(Heart)

***Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Solid Rebounder and Defender)(Legs and Age)

Samuel Dalembert (Great rebounder and Shot blocker)(Inconsistent)

Dan Gadzuric (Athletic Shot Blocker)(Inconsistent)

***Jerome James (Athletic , runs floor well)(Lacks real production)

Steven Hunter (Still young, Shot Blocker)(Lacks real production)

DeSagana Diop (Still young has some potential)(Hasnt lived up to potential)

Mikki Moore (Can score in the post, Shot Blocker)(Inconsistent)

Jared Reiner

Jamal Sampson

Mamadou N'Diaye

Michael Stewart

Jelani McCoy

Shareef Abdur-Rahim(Can score all over the court)(Selfish)

Antoine Walker (Good Passing Skills, effective in low post)(Inconsistent, Turnover prone, Bad shot selection)

Tyson Chandler (Excellent Weak side defender)(No offensive Game)

***Stromile Swift (Athletcism, Shot Blocker)( Depends too much on athleticism)

Udonis Haslem (Good defender, Rebouder)(Did nothing in the playoffs)

Donyell Marshall (Excellent 3 point shooter)(Can do much in the post)

Reggie Evans (Great Rebounder, Defensive minded)(No offensive game)

Danny Fortson (Physical Defender, Long)(Attitude, Not a team player)

Tony Battie (runs the floor well, Shot Blocker)(Inconsistent)

Malik Allen (Solid back-up)(Inconsistent)

Michael Ruffin (Good defensive game)(No offensive game)

Zeke is focussing in all the wrong places right now..he did an excellent job with the draft, but I am not liking the players he is interested in as FAs...

Kwame, Swift, etc...

what about Hunter and James,?????

Unfortunately this is the best available. We desperately need height in our front court. So I think thats why Zeke is looking at the best of this list.

I wouldnt be disapointed with Kwame Brown, because I think Mark Aguire can make him a better player.

Mark can teach a player fundamentals, but he can't teach a player heart and brain. Kwame doesn't have heart nor a brain, but he has a big mouth and a crazy attitude...Besides, tell me how he is going to fit a running gun system

You're complaining about going after players without heart and brains, and in the same breath you're killing Zeke for not going after Jerome James? That's a riot.

Give things time to settle down... When the smoke clears, we'll hopefully have a smaller, better selection to choose from FA-wise.
After July 22nd, when the new CBA kicks in, should lead to an eventful August thruoghout the NBA. The Knicks should be in good shape.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

this is exactly why i wanted bynum. there are going to be plenty of 6-10 ish PF in the draft next year like Josh Boone, Josh Mcroberts, Lamarcus Aldridge[maybe] Sheldan Williams etc... but getting a real 7 footer who can play is almost imposible to find. I wouldve much rather waited just a bit on Bynum and well if we werent that good next season, so be it, it usually takes 2 drafts to 3 drafts to pull you out. I mean we have two picks next year, maybe we walk out of the draft with Rudy Gay and Paul Millsap--something of that ilk. You can get a good PF, its the C position which is a btch.

Big, athletic CF's are the trend. Frye was the right move, now getting another big is the way to go, and it looks like we'll hit it twice.

I wouldnt be mad if Stromile can play Center. Even though he is 6'10 his wingspan and hops is way above average. If we are going to be playing like the Suns he would fit in perfectly.

Hey! the James I saw during the playoffs didn't play like a guy with no heart nor brain. I live in D.C/Maryland area, I am here to tell you that Kwame is not worth it

Were you watching James over the course of the whole season like you were Kwame? If not, your sample set is highly biased. I'm sure there's some 10 game stretch where Kwame played some really good ball, and if you watched only those 10 games you'd be all over the guy.

I acknowledge there are significant questions about Kwame, of course. But the exact same sort of questions apply to James. He showed up in the playoffs in his contract year, but otherwise he's been foul prone and wildly inconsistent. Remind you of anyone on the current Knicks roster?

Id take Kwame if they took allocated money off of us--i.e malik rose if its money spent, its not money risked.

swift is a smart choice--if there is aguy who has put up numbers in terms of shot blocking scoring and rebounding its swift. hes not a RFA and in the east, he could be an effective C. i wanted swift, oh since i signed up on this site, all the earlier posters know that.
