I know that Isiah said that he is not in a hurry to hire a coach, but I am thinking that it is a huge mistake. The purpose of having a coach in the off season is to strategise on how to best use the assets on the roster...It is also the coaches' duty to oversee what the players are doing to better their games in the offseason. Now that we have a bunch of new comers, it is imperative to have a coach to acquint them to his coaching philosophies.

The more I think about it, I am sensing that Isiah will probably endup as our head coach next season...Between he and Laimbeer, one of them will be the head coach if Larry is not available.

Going after Nate will not be a wise move, because Portland is willing to pay him about 8 millions per..Given the fact that we are already paying both Lenny and Channey's contracts, we can't afford to pay a coach like Nate whom has not won a championship either as a player or a coach any more than $$$5 millions

I don't think we have to hurry to get a coach, especially at this time. Better wait for the right coach to come. There is no need to bring a coach now since its a given that this is Isiah's team, that this is his vision. He will build the team, no need to get a coach to tell him who to get.

Also, Isiah will not coach this team, at least not now. He knows he still has like a season and a half at best to build the team he wants. Only then I would see him stepping in as the coach. He will bring someone to coach this team while he builds it completely.

One thing, though, is that I read somewhere on http://www.hoopshype.com that a GM from some team was going to sign with us. I was like: what da?

no, I am not saying to bring a coach to tell him who to get, because we have already picked the players that Isiah visualised as part of his team...we need a coach to come in and lay down the foundation of his style of play and get his players to start believing in his philosophy....When you have a bunch of new guys in a team, it is important to start the bunding period or phase as soon as possible.

Jim Stack from the Twolves.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

After listening to Isiah's interview, I noticed that Isiah is intrigued about coaching the Knicks...He now has ample amount of talent to really go places...as he said, he need one or two big men or true center to elevate the knicks from where we are at. He hates a soft team, and Isiah or Laimbeer share the same vision and doctrine

I wouldn't be bothered if Isiah wanted to be coach, just get him the hell out of the front office. Let him make his imput, but leave it to someone else to pull the trigger.
Atleast with Zeke on the sidelines, we know we would have Marbury and Crawford never slacking.

Aren't you suspicious of the fact that Isiah is willing to bring in another guy who was a GM to the Knicks???? That means Isiah will coach the team next season....

His coaching staff will include: Laimbeer, Agwire, Malone, and someone else.....

I believe

While it is very suspicious and its very intriguing that there wasn't a lot written about it, I still don't think this is the team Isiah wants to have. Many players have to be moved, many 7 footers to acquire. Those aren't easy tasks. But its true that I see Isiah someday coaching the team he built. It should be an exciting day. But I don't know about him being the coach now. The team still needs some work and he has been doind a fine job so far.

But its true that its suspicious. Why do we need another team's GM?

Isiah won't coach this team until there is enough talent to win a championship. Ideally, I think he would like Larry Brown to teach the young players fundamentals and what it takes to have a winning mentality, and then in two or three years, Isiah will have added the necssary talent to win it all, Larry will retire, and Isiah will take over.

That would be his ideal plan, but I don't think Brown will come here. He may then give his pal Laimbeer his chance in the NBA, then, when the team's ready, jump on to win the championship...

That Stack move is pretty strange... he should be the coach, bring some stability to the team and the organization.... as soon as he signs Hunter.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
