He is the next best thing to Larry Brown IMO. His team overachieved this year and if we got him, I will really really expect big things from our team. Just like we got some young athletic players, we need a young (as far as coaches go) coach, not a great coach who is old and very sick (no disrespect intended).

Nate is the top choice, and I would be happy about Laimbeer as well.

Nate is better than Larry because Larry might 1. cost & 2. look to retire after watching half a season of Crawford heave 3 after 3.

Nate could be the coach for the next 3 to 5 years and if we're building something, that is a plus.

same here, for all the hype he has gotten. He has coached D Wade, a pumped up Lamar Odom. I remember when Wade was injured in his rookie season and the Heat were really bad. KVH and the Knicks beat them like by 30. That team turn around can be directly attributed towards Wade. And then you add Shaq. We kill Phil about that stuff, lets be fair if Riley was still coaching I could argue that the Heat would be NBA champs this year. That's why I am not that big a fan of JVG either. Having Ewing, LJ go all out for you. YOu don't play Spree, or Camby and when you are forced too, they just help take you to the NBA finals. Then you get some of the best rising stars in Houston and mold the team after Rile... I mean your coaching style and you still can't get out of the first round. I give them both credit for dusting off Riley playbooks... That's my problem with Herb, man you better check all the offices around MSG for at least one of those playbooks.

nate is a good choice but how can you hate on stan?

he took over a few weeks before the season, and then he turned that team around. OF COURSE they struggled when wade was hurt - he was their best player. you're not going to win if lamar is your franchise talent. then he got them playing an effective style of bball and went FAR in the playoffs.

then they get shaq, who was hurt, and came within 3 minutes of the finals.

don't want stan? that makes no sense.

yet laimbeer is ok? wow.

I watched McMillan the past two years. He's is really good with the players, but also really tough. His Seattle teams, especially this year, played hard. Character guys like Antonio Daniels, Ray Allen, and Nick Collison really meshed well with his offense.

Interestingly enough, HE LOVES Nate Robinson.

He will be just as expensive as Larry Brown.. but the nice thing about him is his experience at working younger players into a rotation.

The one great plus side to Nate is that he won't cost us any compensation like Brown would.

Exactly, the Knicks better not give away any picks/players as compensation for Brown. As good as he may be, the Knicks aren't contending for the championship anytime soon, and by then Brown will be gone.

Nate is far and away the best candidate to coach the Knicks, IMO. I'd much, much rather watch this team grow with Nate at the helm than watch us peak with Brown for a season or two and then have to pick up the pieces all over again after Brown ditches us.

Anyone is better than Herb at this point....Nate is a hell of an upgrade...If that doesn't work, go with Laimbeer...bottom line is that we have to use a different coach next season...
