- New York Knicks: A+ / Channing Frye, Nate Robinson and David Lee

Add in the acquisition of Quentin Richardson via a draft day trade with Phoenix and the much maligned Knicks Isiah Thomas has restructured his team and altered the roster significantly. Frye will solidify the center spot. Robinson, the fastest player coming into the league next season, will give Stephon Marbury a solid backup and Lee is the real deal at the four and could challenge incumbent Mike Sweetney for the starting power forward. By changing 25 percent of their team, the Knicks take a giant leap toward the playoffs. Now if that guy coaching in Detroit comes East...

Isiah started drafting very early...a lot of you have forgotten that Isiah brought in Buttler whom was projected to be a lottery pick...Over all, we have an amount of 5 good picks..and 3 of them are bigs....Frye, Buttler and Lee...

Too much Kool-aid in the morning is bad for your health.

If you include Q-Rich as part of the evaluation of Isiah's performance on draft night, then the grade should be at least an A-. Hoopshype's A+ might be a little high but it's not off by much. The team is already very improved at SF and backup PG and slightly improved at C.

Marv, Buttler was lied to by his Agent or whomever was his adviser at the time...Basically he was done just like Christ Gilchrest or Taft or Blatche.

Also of interest from that article:

Phoenix Suns: D- / Dijon Thompson and Marcin Gortat

With Nate Robinson and Quentin Richardson being the price for Kurt Thomas and Thompson, a D- is a gift. Not a good night for the league's most entertaining team.

If I hear this one more time about Butler I am going to throw up - no offense, but the kid has gotten zero run on this team yet. Hard to get excited about him right now - we will see what he does in summer league and then at the start of the season but the jury is way out on this kid right now.

Plus did you see the Knicks pictures of him? He looks like he is 6'8.

i'll puke if i hear that one more time. come on, it was a team picture, you're comparing him to people standing yards away down the line, it's a wide angle shot so you can't jsut draw a straight line from person to person, and going in to who may be slouching or whatever jsut gets simply ridiculous. let's see how he holds his own on court, first in summer league, then we'll get to know.

HoopsHype's A+ on the Knicks draft is right on the money. I can't wait to see them play!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

not only did hoopshype give the Knicks an A+, we were tops of the list, supposedly did better than every other team. the most unique part of their blurb was saying lee has starting potential very soon, definitely a good sign.

It looks like Butler had a situation similar to Bynum, only that the results weren't the same. Butler was a good High School player and he did the jump straight to the NBA and missed. People recomended him to go to college and develope himself. Had he done that, some expected him to be a first round pick. We'll see how he developes...

Isiah had a very good draft night. I think that grade reflects that he accomplished two things: one, get talented players with those picks; and two, get players that fill needs. Getting Frye helps a lot. Nate will change our game dramatically, and might even give us an identity. Lee was underrated and could be a great surprise...

At the official pre-draft measurements, he was 6'9.5"; he may have grown since then, though, but he's at least that height.
