Nice article. But the two experiences cannot be compared. We in New York are not resting all of our hopes and dreams on him. I don't think anyone here is trying to make him into Ewing. He is who he is. He's going to be an important part to a good Knick team in the future. I think that people WILL be disappointed if they're expecting him to be something he's not. That's what happened to Camby in the beginning here in New York. Who can forget that preseason game, Spree's debute, when we played against Sam Cassel's Nets and Spree dropped 27 in his first game back since his ban. There would only be a few preseon games that season based on the lockout....so it was like the real thing. In that game they let Camby in towards the end when the game was already decided and his first shot as a Knick came from the left corner and it hit the backboard. He got off on the wrong foot with us. We gave up Oakley for that guy. Then once he started proving himself and was inserted into the starting lineup the next season, he was playing awesome basketball (outside of his injury history) but most fans wanted him to be a different type of center. People here wanted him to be bigger, stronger and more of a post player.

THis may happen to Frye initially. But as long as he sticks with it, he'll find his nitch and hopefully Sweetney will develop moreso in the post and get in better shape, or get another frontcourt player that he can play with and he'll be fine. He'll have help here.

Ewing could never please NY fans either. What's your point? If Frye's a good player who brings wins to NY, I don't care what Arizona or NY fans think.
