as per Isiah...

This got me thinking. I would do a NY to Dallas trade since I beleive the window is closing on Dirk Diggler and he needs a PG to get to the next level. Jason Terry is in deep doodoo with Dirk.

How about this trade

NY Trades - Marbury, Mo Taylor
Dallas Trades - KVH, Jason Terry, Devin Harris + Future 1st rd pick.

Calm down! KVH and Terry are on their last year of their contracts. If we cut Allan and let TT and Penny's contract expire our only big contracts are Rose and JYD and Crawford. I think that makes us get under the CAP! Also, JYD and Rose are easier to trade. Some team will be looking for a JYD/Rose type player to help them with toughness.

Memphis is still looking for toughness. Maybe a Wright for either JYD or Rose straight up. Lorenzen is another player in his contract year. There is your space eater.

This would leave us with the following for this year...

C-Frye, Wright
PF-KVH, Sweetney, Lee
SF-Ariza, Rose
SG-Q, Crawford
PG-Harris, Nate, Terry

IR - TT, Penny, Butler

The following year you only have

C-Frye, Butler
PF-Sweetney, Lee
SF-Ariza, Rose
SG-Q, Crawford
PG-Harris, Nate

You can then go after players in the FA market.
Looking at the list, I am going after Ben Wallace(UFA) HARD!
Then our lineup in 2 years will be as follows...

C-Frye, Lee, Butler
PF-Ben Wallace, Sweetney
SF-Ariza, Rose
SG-Q, Crawford
PG-Harris, Nate

YUP!

Isiah isn't trading Marbury to get back KVH...it just isn't happening.

if he ever decides to trade Marbury, he's going to have to get back a marquee level player in return.

I could see Dallas being a good fit for Marbury. I'm not sure we can compete for a championship before Marbury is shot.

I don't know about going after Ben Wallace- he's a super 1 dimensional player that in 2 years might start loosing his effectiveness.

I hear you, but that is one way to blow it up and make our team still be fun to watch next year.

i agree, if i were in charge of the team i might do the same...i've proposed deals before where we get back good building blocks for the future...but Marbury is Isiah's guy, so it's going to take a marquee player to get him to trade Stephon.

Feet Van Corn? No Deal.

Folks still refuse to left that punk GO. I can't believe anyone would even bring him up in a trade idea.

The Knicks are finally moving in the direction of NOT having soft-azz players on this team. Let's keep it that way.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Only here for 1 year. Need him to get Harris and get rid of Marbury and get a future 1st rd pick.

Marbury is my boy as well...he's the only thing that stopped me from giving up on this franchise...as far as I'm concerned, we are in great shape...with tt, Penny and H20 coming off the cap, and the immenent (sp?) trades of MoT or Rose or JYD, then the cap isn't a problem.

Then you have the youthful core already in place...no reason to trade marbury...I know it sounds fun to think about it...but there is no way he's being traded...if we didn't trade him for Vincanity (one of the most popular Marquee players in the league) he's not going to be traded for KVH and other expiring contracts.

I think zeke is all done with accumulating contracts...we're looking to win with Marbs.

And, sorry to say, I am on board.

Just the fact that you used the phrase "Get Rid of" and Marbury in the same sentence makes me think this is more an excuse to get rid of marbury (maybe you have no faith in his ability to win a championship?) as opposed to making our team better.

Sorry...I have to say stick with what we got and one more trade and we are in contention.

all kool aid all the time.

Funny you caught that. I re-read my preview of the post before posting and wasn't sure if I want to say "get rid". I was never a fan of Marbury. I guess his decision to force his way out of Minny still irks me. Or his sneaker with the Nets. I am warming up to him and because he is a Knick, I am rooting for him all the time. I would not shed any tears though if he left. A PG combination of Nate and Harris would be good for the future though. Don't you think? Plus we can go after Ben Wallace. I really like selfless workers.

If the Knicks can't score a top C or PF for Marbury, keep him.

I know the lakers are going after him.

Hmmm...I can't beleive I missed that. He is a RFA. We can go after him before Ben Wallace. Blowing it up with this scenario really is very enticing right now for me.

Our roster on year 2 would be as follows

C-Ming, Lee, Butler
PF-Frye, Sweetney
SF-Ariza, Rose
SG-Q, Crawford
PG-Harris, Nate

Not bad.

Did you look at my scenario, trades and moves, that will get us under the cap at the beginning of the thread?
