Now that Marvin WIlliams has been selected by Atlanta, Dave D'Allesandro said today that Al Harrington's days are probably numbered. Why not trade Crawford for Al? We could start Marbury and Q with Nate as the backup. I know some see Q as a small forward but 2 guard suits him as well. Channing may not be a center but we would look like this for now:

Channing
Harrington
TT
Q
Marbury

I still think either Rose, Sweetney or Maurice Taylor is going for a legit center so we'll see but our bench has some real depth with those guys mentioned plus Nate, Lee and Ariza.
Suddenly we are real deep.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

A little birdy told me that Isiah really really believes in Crawford and thinks he can be something. He wont trade him, especially not for Al jeff.
I'm not mad at Al or anything, but alot of people here hate him or something.

It's clear Isiah is building something here, and Crawford is a part of it.

That, to me, is a terrible lineup. Tim Thomas should not be in any plans. He won't be on this team in a year, play Ariza, live with his laerning mistakes. TT should be traded, the most I want to see of him is spotty minutes of the bench.

If you heard the Isiah interview on the FAN today, it appears TT is in the mix. At least until the trade deadline. Ariza is going to have to wait his turn or earn starter's minutes.

The presene of TT will be very hard to handle, I really hate him with a passion. He makes Knick games hard to watch.

I really wish we trade him for anything.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I know we have all been down this road before, but TT has talent and if he plays like he did in the second half of last year and the way he played upon being traded here the first year, he has value. If he sucks the first month, get him out of here. With Harrington, he averaged 18 points and 7 boards a game and shot 46%. He plays defense. Could Sweetney do more?

Don't remember the date but I proposed trading Crawford and Sweetney to Atlanta for Harrington and Atlanta's second pick in the this year's draft. TMS said adding Sweetney was a little rich for his blood. Check it out. I know Isiah loved Harrington when he coached him in Indiana and would love to get him back.

You're bringing up good points, plus Harrington is from northern Jersey and was a Knicks fan as a kid, so he wouldn't be against it, but I just don't see Isiah going in that direction. I think he likes Crawford and will be patient with him.

Plus, I'm pretty sure he wants a 3-guard rotation like he had in DET w/ the Microwave and Dumars, and he has that now w/ Q, Crawford, and Starbury.

And I'm with simrud, TT is terrible.

Rojasmas, I know we all say he has the talent, but how many years has he been in the league? Is this his 8th year? He will never put it together, he's a fugazy, I am counting the days until he is employed by someone other than the Knicks.

Speaking of the old Pistons, I don't know much about David Lee but could Isiah's drafting of him signal that Laimbeer is about to be hired and reminds Isiah of Bill himself? Lee I am sure is a much better athlete but Laimbeer tallied a lot of boards on the stat sheet in his day.

TT did shoot 41% from 3 the last two years. That's worth something.

Interesting point about Lee. I'm not sure if Laimbeer is the right fit for coach of this team, clearly Isiah is going into a fast-breaking, wide-open type of play. I'm not a WNBA fan, so I've never seen Laimbeer coach, but I don't think he's that type of guy. Maybe he is, who knows.

TT is a good shooter, and I think he'd be a good backup SF for about $2 mil per. I'd rather have a defender who can shut people down, and TT for anything over $3 mil a year is ridiculous. If they can't trade him, I'd keep him around and let his contract expire, and re-sign him to something reasonable if nobody else is available.

I just don't really like the guy.

The 3 guard rotation theory is getting old. In order to play like that you have to have serious badass players. Rodman made that work for two championship teams. We don't have that player. Playing two centers makes that work for the Spurs, we don't have two centers. If you could get like Chris Anderson and Ratlif back there with Frye backing up you could keep Marbs, Q, Craw, and Nate rotating all day. Now that would be a team.

There has to be something we can give up for Ratlif, (Sweetney, Rose, '06 Pick) and Anderson's just sitting out there.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Laimbeer wouldn't even know what an athlete was if he ran into one.
Seriously, he was a silver spoon rich boy but he loved to play the game and gave 150%. I would very much like to see Dirty Bill get this gig. And bring in Rick Mahorn. He and Sweets could give J Lo a run for her money.

Good points about Laimbeer.

He did 3 things extremely well:

Hit the jumper

Rebound

Give cheap shots

Al Harrington is a good player, but not for the knicks and not now.. he is a half court player, we are trying to be uptempo...

With the selection of Frye, with more talented smaller guys on the board, its a signal that the small for big trade is tremendously difficult to pull off.

Harrington is 6'8 as well so were not really getting bigger. Frye and Sweetney are a good pair. One takes up space the other has length.

TMS, I posted the original thread of Crawford and Sweetney for Harrington and Atlanta's second pick in this year's draft long before you proposed the Crawford for Harrington one for one pick the other night. You said you didn't think Sweetney needed to be included in the deal, Atlanta might trade Harrington even up for Crawford. Not real important, but want to set the record straight. Look in the archives if you wish or don't remember.
