so there goes the BS about teams wanting Frye, also, If Utah had stayed at 6, their player was Granger per their paper--go look it up. I still can believe Granger and Green fell like that. I like Frye, I defended him as a late lottery to mid range pick, but 8 was just still to high. Now I cannot base anything that Frye has done to improve himself after the season has ended because I have not seen him play since, but can he have changed that much since he played 4 YR in CBB? . Other than his bench pressing, nothing stood out to me about his combine results athletically. He is not a true 7 footer , no one who is 6-9 in bare feet and using hardcore techniques to get their weight just pased 240 is a real 7 foot C. He's a PF and I want to see how this guy will ultimatley defend players with size and girth in the block, guys with more athletic ability. I think you say to yourself, EVEN if we dont what Bynum--how the fudge can we bypass Green and Granger, I dont give a shat what other teams did or did not do---do these frikin teams look back at Josh Smith and JR Smith and realize how badly they fcked up last year? Tell me WTF did anyone see in Yaroslev Kavolev that shows he had more talent that Green at the same age--Green was the number 1 ranked HS player in the UNITED STATES who did show a combination of incredible athletic ability and skill in the MCD game, showed Dominique Wilikns like Athletic ability

I just do not, in the realm of things, even if they like Frye lalala hate Bynum lalala need a 7 footer lalala do you pass on that, or Granger. But alas we did.

it's a very real possibility that something showed up in the workouts and interviews with granger. EVERY mock draft out there had him top 10 but he fell and fell hard. maybe teams were scared of the knee?

DJ there was three BIG variables to this draft. Number 1 was trades, number 2 was more players than draft spots available-- number 3 was the unknown reach. anything can change the balance of an entire draft

I think what happened to Green was he was a lock for 3 until he refused workouts with other players and then it was to late. Aftre that, you have some teams that start drafting players who fell unexpectedly, you had multiple promises--which creates the snowball.

Just to show you how high Larry Bird was on Grnager and Green--he had BOTh players in his top 5--he actually talked about how if Green fell[and he was talking ficitiously] how hed scoop him, up, and then a guy he had above him fell down the shoot! Now Gosh you add Granger with Artest and Jackson and look at that D. These teasm got high lottery talent in the late MIDDLE of the draft, they must have literally been shocked.

Now we can just hope that frye improves, but Im not putting the expectations on him like other people may. My expectations are that he should be a very solid summer league player and come in and play 20 minutes or so, likely off the bench.

Briggs,
It looks like to me that Toronto would have preferred to select Frye but I really think Frye tried as hard as possible to not have them select him because he would rather play for the Knicks. He refused to work out for them and told them he didn't want to play for them. Do you think Toronto wants to draft a guy that never wants to play there? I would say only if it was a franchise type talent but look at the whole Vince Carter fiasco and I doubt they wanted that.

I think Frye's agent played that right by shutting down workouts if really wanted to go to the Knicks which he stated he did. The money he'll make in endorsements with NY will offset any difference in money he would have received being drafted higher.

Don't know where Briggs getting his information but Babcock already stated that Frye refused to workout for them after repeated request as recently as this weekend.

Frye's agent told Utah and Toronto not to take him, that he didn't want to play there.
