Isiah is really looking to improve this squad by getting rid of a lot of guys...I like his thinking and I think that the Knicks will benefit from that in the long run. I like JYD and I hope that Isiah reconsider, but if he can find a baller that can provide what JYD can and more, I will be all for it.

NY POST
""Going in to the offseason, I wanted to add two 7-footers to our roster," said Isiah. "I have now got one. I'll to add another this summer.

"He is just solid. When you talk about upside and potential, sometimes big men are said to have a ceiling. I think Channing has only scratched the surface of what he's going to be."

Isiah likes long, athletic big men and players with character. Frye runs the floor well, scouts say, and can get easy baskets on the break.

"Isiah wants a winning team," Frye said. "If he wants me to stay in the gym, I'll set up a cot and shoot free throws at two in the morning," Frye said. "I'm being dead serious, too."

The mature Frye is not worried about the Big Apple pressure.

"You play basketball in Tuscon, you're in a fishbowl," said Frye. "I've been in a fish bowl for a long time. The first time someone mentioned New York was interested, I thought about the responsibility. It made me go in the gym and work harder."

The Knicks still need more beef up front. There will be a number of free-agent centers Isiah likes available July 1 - Kwame Brown, Jerome James, Eddy Curry. Cavs GM Danny Ferry stated his priority is to keep Zydrunas Ilgauskas".

Daily news..
"The trade is the first of many moves Isiah Thomas is expected to make to clear out veterans with long-term contracts. Allan Houston is expected to be released and the Knicks want to trade Jerome Williams and Malik Rose".

We should have never drafted Lee, and then we only would have had to get rid of one of them.

Even if he's better than either of them, along with obviously younger and cheaper?

Just look at clips of this kid Lee-quickness, speed and ballhandling for a big. He could turn into something special.

Isiah said it best...He is looking for guys that are hungry and guys who have something to prove.....Picking that little midget says it all....That boy just like Mugzy bogue or Boykins will have something to prove....

Once he is able to bring in eithe Jerome James or Curry, our roster will be set...I don't know if Sweet will be a Knick for long...because once Isiah gets either one of those guys, Frye will be shift to his natural position (PF) as a starter with either one of those big bodies to start as Center...

I think Frye will continue to work hard until he is a natural center. I think he will start there for a long time. We will be set once we trade Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney to get a very good starting PF. David Lee will be excellent off the bench. He is a hard worker, energy guy, great athlete, and bigger than any of our other PFs.

Getting back to Frye though, i absolutely love what i hear from him. He really seems like he could be something special. You can tell he means every word he says too.

Lee will suprise you. The guy can play and he's got a real motor. When we passed Ike I'm glad we got Lee. We need tough guys that go full speed. Lee does.

Well, EVEN if Lee is a decent player, he is not going to be a starter and he is not even going to get more than 6 minutes per game. I simply stated that we did not need him. With Sweetney, Taylor and J.Williams we would have been ok at PF, and we just needed to trade rose.
You talk as if you thought that he is better than Sweetney, and certainly he is not.
Maybe he is a decent player, but once again we did not need him.

If you read my thread further, you will notice that Isiah will go further by trading: JYD and Malik....Those two are vets and will probably want to play for a championship team...

not necessarily...every team around the league are in need for hustlers like Malik and JYD. I would keep JYD to tell you the truth...He is not selfish and he will do the little things that can psychologically help teach young kids like Frye...Diving on the floor is not something young kids want to do today...JOrdan did it many times, even as a Wizzard he was diving on the floor while guys like Kwame were playing like girls...

Keep JYD, ship out Rose. JYD was guarding T-mac and doing it quite well too. Hes versatile, big and hes an animal. Malik plays hard but is much smaller.

I believe is Zeke, I believe in these guys because he picked them. He picked them because he saw something in them. Thats enough for me. He has never drafted a bust. Never.

Have you seen lee play. If the knicks are going to be a running team, lee fits the bill. I will tell you this, lee will not get his shot blocked around the hoop like sweetney does, and he will probably be a much better finisher. This guy can be a starter down the road. He is not just a hustle player..

Both JYD and Rose are versatile players. Both are very good defenders. I remember Rose doing the best job he could do on Shaq, and he did a good job. If they had smaller contracts and we didn't have many PF's, it wouldn't hurt to have them, at all. But I understand that one, or maybe two of them, has to go. Right now I would definitely trade Sweetney, but only if a young player, prefiribli ar C, would come the other way. JYD can stay because he is a very good role player, very good defender-energy guy. Trade Mo Taylor because now he doesn't fit this team.

We'll see, but some PFs definitely have to go...

I don't have a clue. I keep hearing about how bad the Knicks roster was, yet everytime the Knicks make a trade. It is like great for the other team. I am telling you if the Knicks would trade Crawford for McGrady, it would be like great move by Caroll, "getting a young athlethic player with a reasonable contract" Isiah was able to land a 21st pick while keeping his lotto pick and pick up Q in the process while glutting his undersized, non-athlete problem at center. I am curious what is his thought about Jackie Butler because i still view this guy as a terrific pickup. btw, did Pops get drafted?

If isiah is so quick to ship out rose then why the hell did he trade away naz for him???

After this draft Isiah looks lost and without a plan. I hope he proves me wrong.

one should stay.. these are great players to have young guys around. KT was also for that matter, but JYD/Rose will demand less minutes. In many ways Lee is a JYD clone with more skills.

The reason why the players we trade look better playing for other teams is simply because those other teams have already an establish system/superstars and a coach. The Knicks was a transitional team without a system....nothing we had really matched...
