The Knicks already have Taft on their team: his name is Tim Thomas. Isiah had him workout at least once and saw him through Chicago. Everyone hates TT and yet a lot want Taft.

Blatche didn't work out for ANYONE. Neither did Nickoloz Tskitishvili and he had about as much upside. Why, as a GM, would you take THAT much risk? He is high school, which means he needs about 3-4 years as a big man to step up.

Thank you!

David Lee is going to be great for this team, just awesome. So is Robinson. So is Frye. I don't know why people can't trust Suhr and Isiah, the guys who collectively drafted Rodman, Ariza, Camby, Tmac, Damon and Suhr signed Ben Wallace. These guys have an eye for talent, they added two active big men who can block a shot, play tough defense or throw it down and they added possibly the best athlete in the entire draft at PG.

That's my point. You really have to be that bad. The Warriors worked him out for the 9th pick, so it was great for them if they keep him. I hope nothing but the best. However, he went from top 3 pick to mid second round. Blatche gets my Omar Cook award this year. Somewhere Stern had to be pleased to see Blatche go #50. I guess Kwame Brown services are no longer needed.

I'd assume the same applies to Bynum. If Isiah liked him, he would have taken him after the private workout.

Maybe Isiah did or maybe Isiah didn't even work him out privately, but there were rumors all over the place that Isiah made a promise to Channing Frye a long long time ago, which may have been the most fatal mistake he could have done. I really think if it weren't for that, then we'd either have Gerald Green or Andrew Bynum on the team. Isiah is probably gonna regret choosing Frye over Bynum, Green and Granger, as well as Grahem for a pretty long time. However, the Nate Robinson and David Lee picks were very very good. No matter what, I wanted Robinson. I never heard of Lee before 4 years ago, but according to many, he's a good tough player who can defend and has good foot speed and lateral quickness, which is what we haven't had since MARCUS CAMBY. Those two picks were good.

I mean do you think these promises are binding. I am sure that Gerald Green got 6 promises that no way he goes pass them but there he was drifting away. The Raptors took Charlie V because they couldn't take Frye. Isiah traded away KT to make room for Frye. Bilas I guy who I think is a hell of a talent evaluator had Frye as the BPA at the #5 spot.

Come on! Even if Lee is better than Taft (which is NOT), we needed Taft more than Lee. A 6'10 who can play center or a 6'9 power forward "a la" Jerome Williams?

because taft's performances led isiah and many others to doubt if he can play effectively in the league. doesn't matter at what position.

I don't know about Taft being a bum.
What if he were a beast?
After all, he reminds me of the Predator!

It's not the size it's the motor and attitude you bring which Taft was sorely lacking.

Taft reminds me of DD aka Chocolate Thunder who had more upside than Taft. He becames serviceable but never reached his star potential. There were a number of great athletes similarly situated who are mere trivia answers

Taft may or may not have more upside but the last thing the Knicks need are rookies with suspect work ethics. Lee has a motor on a par with Jerome, only he's more skilled. He will come into camp and challenge vets for playing time immediatly. Lets face it... all the starting froncourt positions are open. There is no reason a guy like Lee can challenge for major minutes. Coaches love players that do the dirty work. This guy will create more shots for Marbury, Craw, Q and Nate the way he crashes the boards and fights for balls.

Also he earned this spot. He went into Chi and outplayed everyone, out hustled everyone (except maybe Maxiel) and worked himself from a possible undrafted FA to a first round pick. This is a guy that will fight every minute he's on the floor. Taft strikes me as a guy that thinks he belongs there because agents told him so, not because he earned it.

Good pick for Isiah here

Yeah I always try to remember that these guys know more about basketball than me. I trust Isiah, if this is who he wants, i will be optimistic about them becoming Knicks.

pretty sure Rodman went undrafted... beside, what did Zeke have to do with Rodman? Was Suhr GM or something?

I think its a great likeness.
Same dreads, same part in the hair, same chin, same jutting mouth/jaw, same big forehead.
That's all I was able to think about since I first saw him.
