All this Bynum talk is a smoke screen. Isiah knows he overplayed his hand by announcing the Q trade too early, all this news of the Frye promise leaked - so now the Knicks are acting like Frye is out of their range and will go top 7.

But think about it: there's no way this happens.

The Jazz are supposedly trading up to get Deron Williams, and even if they didn't move up, they need a PG desperately. They don't need size. They have Okur, Collins, Borchardt, AK47 and Boozer. They need guards, specifically a PG. They let Lopez go back to Spain, they traded Arroyo. Howard Eisley is their only PG right now.

The Raptors have been rumored to be interested in Frye. This is bogus too. They may have been trying to get the Knicks to bite on a swap of 7 for 8 and Jalen for Timmy, but when it comes down to it, there's no way in the world Toronto passes on their most coveted guy: Danny Granger.

The top 8 picks are almost a lock to unfold like this:

1) Bogut
2) Marvin
3) Deron to Utah
4) Paul/Green
5) Green/Paul
6) Bynum/Webster (depending how you believe Portland wants)
7) Granger
8) Frye

Trust me, the chance that Frye is not on the board at 8 is minimal. If anything the rumors that Zeke wants Bynum may be true, but my guess is the rumors are to entice Portland to get the 6 pick and takes Bynum there.

I pretty much agree, the only way we get Bynum and not Frye imo is if Portland believes moving to #6 is too low for them to get Webster..Charlotte at 5 is saying they might take him. If Portland doesn't want to risk getting their man, and I think that man is Webster to fill that gaping hole at SG, then they might stay at 3 and take Webster there. It's a longshot, but possible. The draft would then unfold this way:

1. Bogut
2. Marvin
3. Webster
4. Deron
5. Paul
6. Frye
7. Green
8. Bynum

If the Frye talk isn't a smokescreen, Isiah is an idiot.

when has Isiah ever talked about Frye? Also, if you look through Isiah's history, it's always pretty transparent who he wants in the draft.

The sources inside the Knicks that have reportedly leaked the Frye information work for him. Consequently, any leak is imputed to him.

Transparency, when you don't have the first pick in the draft is stupid.

I don't disagree, but I think part of this is the fact that this is the New York Knicks and there are 30 reporters following the team's every move. I'm sure Isiah wasn't happy when news of the private Frye workout leaked.

I think if the Raptors select Frye and the Knicks select Granger, there will be a trade involving Jalen Rose.

So, why not trade for Rose???? I know that TT's contract is much more valuable at this point, but if Houston is not on the roster, it would make a lot of sense to trade Penny or TT for Jalen and pick 7 if they are the one selecting Frye....

dude, we are not going to be contending for another year or two...i have NO interest in Rose...who is NOT the player he was in Indiana. A player his age is the last thing we should be trying to acquire.

Forget Rose, if Toronto takes Frye we get a swing player and address the center spot in free agency.

I don't think so. Toronto covets Granger. The Frye interest is a bluff on their part. If they take Frye, I think it's a sign that there's a trade between New York and Toronto. Remember, a Knicks trade can't be made until after they make their selection at 8.

Anyway, Toronto will probably just chicken out and take Granger. They can't afford to be that stupid.
