Has Frye going 6 to Utah and Bynum going 7 to the Raptors, us taking Webster at 8, passing on Granger, who slips at 12. Then, as many mocks have it now, has us talking Blatche with pick #30...

8. New York Knicks – Martell Webster, 6-8, SG, Seattle (Wash.) Prep.

With the Kurt Thomas trade all but done, the Knicks are in dire need of size. It is no secret they want Channing Frye, but it may too late for that. Spain's Fran Vazquez appears to be falling like a rock. The Knicks want to trade with Portland, but if no deal happens, then getting Webster, who has wowed in workouts, isn't a bad alternative. Last-minute events will determine this one.

30. New York Knicks – Andray Blatche, 6-11, South Kent (Conn.) Prep.

The last pick of the first round is about potential and Blatche, with his size, face-up game and ability to run the open court fits that bill. Intensity is a major concern, but if he didn't have any question marks, he would have been long gone.

If the Knicks "want to trade with Portland", who do you think Isiah has in mind at pick # 3?
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

I cannot believe that Isiah actually wants Frye and every other team knows it.

Could it be (trading with Portland) that Isiah secretly covets Gerald Green or Deron Williams and desperately wants one of them?

I don't think the Knicks want to trade with Portland.

I also think if they make a trade it will be to pick up another pick between 10 and 20.

What do you base that on, Phil?
I feel that this late movement rumor mill has more credibility than the early hype....IF we're gunning for the third pick...how exciting would that be?

I mean if the Trail Blazers "want to end up with Andrew Bynum" maybe they are willing to trade #3 for our #8 and one of our expiring contracts and take Bynum at 8. Better yet, maybe they'll be drafting for us at 3 and we'll be drafting for them at 8. I'm starting to believe that I'd rather have Green or Williams at 3 than Bynum or Frye at 8. Then take Blatche at 30 and pursue Gadzuric/ K Brown, etc. for our C.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

I don't really see the need to get that third pick, considering that where we are now we have a chance at both Frye and Bynum and even a slightly good chance on Green, who is supposedly slipping down. Even if that doesn't happen, we could still pick Bynum.

One thing, it we traded for the 3rd pick, it would probably be to get a PG, that meaning the end of Steph in NY. I don't see that happening, so I don't see this trade with Portland necessary...

Me neither. Definitely sucks for us, especially that #8 pick. Blatche is someone many mocks are agreeing that we could get at # 30, but many picks there in the top 18s are very cuestionable...

we weren't trying to trade with Portland, Portland was calling the teams with two picks to see who would make the best deal with them.

to me, this mock represents worst case scenario: Frye and Bynum are gone. sigh. if this happens, I will not be a happy camper...

funny, another draft that has Taft slipping out of the first round. if it came down to Taft or Blatche at 30, I would honestly not know who to take. I feel like Taft is a Wilcox type (minus the hand gun), and to get that type of guy at 30 would be great... Blatche is a total wild card to me. I can see him being the next Jonathan Bender where we keep waiting and waiting and waiting...

I'd be happy with either but I think Blatche has a huge upside and might not take that long to cause real problems for opponents on both ends of the floor.

Many here compare Taft to an Amare, and some comparisons make sense, like the fact that their stocks went down because teams questioned their characters. Don't know what to think. If we take the high schooler Bynum, maybe the best way to go would be with Taft, someone more ready. But at the same time, Blatche has great potential. What to do?
