Saw this. This makes a lot of sense. If Bynum goes 6 and Frye goes 7, there will be a lot of sad of Ultimate Knicks boarders.

Really only because Bynum will be gone...but that is not a bad scenario, that means we could very well be taking Green or Granger.

Gerald Green would be a great pick is Bynum isn't there. Then we can pick Blatche at 30 and try to get a mid-round and get another player.

Knicks: If the Quentin Richardson-for-Kurt Thomas deal ever goes down (it's been held up because of concerns about Richardson's bad back, which is uninsured), the Knicks will have to get serious about getting a big man who can play center.

As we first reported at the Chicago predraft camp, the team has made a promise to Frye and he shut down his workouts. However with both the Jazz and Raptors eyeing Frye, it's no longer a lock that he's there at No. 8. If he's gone, the team will have to decide between Spanish big man Fran Vazquez and high school big man Andrew Bynum.

The pick might very well be Bynum at this point. Vazquez's stock has been in flux for weeks after teams became concerned that he might not be willing to come to the NBA next season. Vazquez flew to New York this weekend and held two general workouts on Saturday and Sunday to quell some of those fears, but the reviews were very mixed. Teams weren't impressed at all on Saturday, when rustiness and jet lag contributed to a below average workout. Vazquez was better on Sunday, according to NBA sources in the gym, but didn't do much to help his stock.

Bynum, on the other hand, has been the draft's hottest riser in the past few weeks. He looked great in a general workout held before the predraft camp and in private workouts for the Lakers and Blazers. The only reason Isiah Thomas won't take him is because he has a veteran team and Bynum, despite the upside, is probably a couple of years away from being able to help.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

This wouldn't be that bad of a scenario because you are pretty much guaranteed of getting a player like Granger, Green, or Frye. I want Bynum but this wouldn't be that bad of a 2nd option.

The veteran team the Knicks have is not good to win with or without Frye.

not really since we'll get the a star SF who's a 2-way player & will be good right away making us a better team next year after doing a sign and tarde for a Center. with wins comes happiness not sadness

Can someone remind me who actually shined at the MCD games.
If the Knicks walk away with Gerlad Green and Blatche/Taft. I will be a happy man. If we come away with Webster and Taft I will be excited as well. Everyone is sleeping on Taft, because of these individual workouts, which he doesn't function well in. He needs 5 on 5 with a pg to set him up.

I still believe in Taft, and KNOW he would be a good fit with Starbury.

I really don't see Taft or Blatche being there at 30. Are you guys thinking they will???? If so, why do you think they won't get nabbed earlier (I have Taft going at 15 and Blatche at 20).

If Isiah is really impressed with Bynum after the private workout and he thinks Bynum will be taken before #8, he'd probably use our expiring contracts or other trade assets to move up in the draft.

It depends on the teams' needs. There are a lot of guys that could go higher than them. Mock drafts have many different guys after the first 10 picks. Taft has been slipping considerably. Blatche may be overlooked by some teams. Who knows...
