we are now completely out of range> he moved right ahead of Frye and now is not likely to get past 5 and COULD be had at THREE.

I knew it, I knew it before these idiot Knicks, they shouldve moved on him ONE day after his public workout--the sCOUTs who were there should be FIRED

i tried to tell you he is much better than is purported

Just wondering...

How many times have you actually watched him play?

It's been a series of bungle jobs by this organization, Briggs. Starting with playing our regulars down the stretch to being near-sighted in this situation. If he somehow falls to us at 8 and we don't grab him, I'll be disgusted.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

No way he goes top 5. I still don't understand why he's a better prospect than Petro or the most common comparison, Brendan Haywood.

If he goes top 5, I will bow to your evaluation abilities.

Its already a done deal, he has 0 chance to get to 8. Maybe that sends French frye down to us. Im just saying what I said all along, they didnt do their jobs.

So you've seen him ONE TIME?

Basically, you're just going by stuff you've read on the internet.

Not all that impressive to me....the credit should go to the guys who've actually watched him, and wrote the stuff we've all read....not you, for reading it, passing it along to us, and then trying to take credit for it.

someone had an ego

briggs-stop acting like you are the only one who liked Bynum...maybe you were the earliest one on THIS message board...but that's only because i just found it. people have been liking Bynum well before he announced his intentions to enter the draft...

anyway...nothing is set in stone, portland still could take Webster at #6 if that trade goes through.

if Bynum is indeed gone before we pick, that's better then if he's on the board when we pick and we DON'T take him

Where are you getting this idea that he has 0 chance of making it to 8?

thats cool, because I saw Amare Stoudemire ONCE in person as well. Brother, I knew and KNOW more about Bynum than the NY KNICK ORGANIZATION. And I will leave it at that.

IF bynum has been impressing the last few weeks and his stock rising, how is it the knicks have been in neglect?

Ive been on this board for awhile, and Briggs can be a bit excited. He gets going with an idea and has a hard time letting it go. I remember the the month of the daily "Get Rahim" post from him. But in Briggs defense he calls it like he sees it, and he sees alot more than most of us.

The last guy the Briggs gushed about like this was Amare Stoudemire. When Michael Redd was done with his 2nd round pick contract Briggs said that summer if we drafted Amare and signed Redd to the full MLE we would be back to contending and back to it fast.

People said we didnt need Redd because we had Houston and Spree and Nene, Wilcox and Caron Butler were better bets than Amare.

Hahaha people are already fighting over who takes credit for this legendary center.

Please, i'll laugh so hard when he flops. Portland is a horrible talent evaluator. They just can't wait to draft the next Haywood, Diop, whatever.

Big and black doesn't equal Shaq attack.

told you it was only a matter of time since he only entered the draft not even 2 months ago while no one knew much about him because he was going to UCONN. anyone with half a brain could see that it was only a matter of time that a 7-1 280 C recruited to the best program in college basketball would get picked in the top 10!

If we miss out on Bynum, sadly....time will tell if you are right on here, Briggs. That's not much consolation for an organization desparate for a huge center for the next 10 years. Bynum does have that POSSIBILITY. I respect other people's lower opinion of him, but I feel that he's well worth the 8th pick. I would sign Dan Gadzuric as our center until Bynum is ready.
Finally, you don't have to defend yourself here. I think that you have forgotten more basketball than most of the posters here ever learned.

Just seems like it was only two weeks ago Jim Calhoun was saying he is not ready for the nba, and now he is top 6? Wow!

Briggy gets props for seeing the hype first, but how are the Knicks negligent here?

Thats a good line. Thats what sports fans do. In all fairness, they are all hoping we get Bynum and he succeeds.

I'd like to get rid of that fallacy, too..

You weren't the only person impressed with Amare Stoudemire. Not even close.

Sorry...but you strike me as just a very weird person. Just about everything you've said here about Bynum is based on stuff that you've heard from other people...that doesn't make you a genius talent evaluator. And to be completely honest...I doubt that everything you've said about him is even based in reality.

Bynum very well may turn into the next great franchise center. But if he does...you're not getting an ounce of credit from me. And you can deny it if you want...but you've proven time and time again that "credit" is something that means a lot to you, to the point that you're willing to say some of the wackiest stuff I've ever heard, and make it seem as if you're some kind of "all knowing" NBA scout. You're not. You've seen him one time.

Like I said...I think you're just wierd.

Damn....I knew the Knicks should have drafted Bynum last week!

Wait...what exactly were the Knicks suppose to do? They pick at #8...wanted to work him out. He cancelled....or maybe had a private workout. If portland drafts him at 3 there is not much the Knicks can do.

Briggs, I agree you were right about this kid's potential in the eyes of NBA teams. I still have doubts as to whether that potential will be realized.

BUT, how did the Knicks NOT do their jobs here? They worked out Bynum in secret, but he wanted to be drafted higher and he worked out for other teams. They can only do so much with the 8th pick. They just didn't have enough leverage.
