What if the Knicks get a top-3 pick, but not number 1, who do they pick? Like if Stern knows he can't give them the number 1 pick to prevent from fixed lotto claims, but he knows he needs the Knicks to turn around fast, so he gives them either 2 or 3. Let's say 3, Golden State goes first and gets Ming. Chicago goes 2nd and gets Williams. What now for the Knicks, trade down to the 7-10 region, getting a pick for next year and still getting a player they want, drafting Dajuan, etc.? And has anything come out from reliable places (ex. ESPN) that an Odom for Camby trade would go down, because I think Odom could turn a franchise around. 3rd year, usually guys do well, like Kobe and Garnett, they break out. His got cut short, he could average 18 points and 10 assists as a point guard, he's 6 ft. 10, he'd cause such match up problems. If that opportunity is there, Knicks have to do that. Then they would have the building blocks, Wagner and Odom. Would the Clips do Camby and Knicks 2nd rounder this year and 2nd rounder next year (2nd rounders never really pan out) for Odom and one of the Clips 1st rounders. Then get Stoudy with the 2nd, you'd have three athletic players to build around. Go from there. Lakers build around Kobe/Shaq. Celtics around Pierce/Walker. Pistons are building aruond Wallace/Stackhouse. Mavs around Finley/Nash/Dirk. Knicks would have Wagner/Odom/Stoudemire. It'd be dangerous. Thoughts?
