Say Josh gets hurt and needs 20-30 games out.
Who starts? Shamet is the likley pick but Im not sure he can play the starter minutes. He can finish.
He plays hard but his shoulders and other things have not been durable.
Deuce? We go with a small back court? Defensively is this an issue? Kolek? I like him at PG, but there is GTA whom I don't like starting.
Bruce Brown? Logical choice and brings some edge we lose with Josh.
Then there is Dadiet who at 6-8 has size and range. The rest of his game still suspect.

If Brown is a good choice, then who goes? Dadiet the obvious choice as he has not yet shown his meddle as has Kolek and Duece. But at the same time if those two are not automatic, then why they here?

Has Dadiet hit his ceiling or run out of time?

I think you're missing Diawara. If he can play as he did mid last season, I'd slot him in at the PF and slide OG back down to the SF, which will be a big strong front court.

Josh plays the 2 SO I was not thinking of Mo. Im thinking more of a conventioal outside shooter larger 2. This was Dadiet's chance. Knicks are in win now adn he not in the here and now. I can see KAT playing some at the 4.

Shamet and Diawara are the wing replacements when needed.

Josh is definitely not playing like a 2. He's averaging like 8+ RB per game over the past 3 years. How are you not seeing him at least as a SF, or possibly the PF on this SL? Traditional roles on this team are hard, but I don't see him as a SG at all. More like a point forward. Mikal is the 2.

And guess what? Josh sat tonight, and who started in his place?

Yes, knicks about play a 1-2-2 with two wings. Diawara is a development priority and knicks can afford to be patient with these guys. I like how Brown used Dadiet with starters in 4th. Had some nice cuts. Both of them executed well but not finishing. Bruce Brown is a proven talent. Personally Im fine with letting Brown go if Deuce sticks.
