Are we playing today's game or 90s ball? Makes a difference on a guy like Oak (my favorite back in the day) or even Camby. No matter what era I've got OG starting.

Today's style:

PG Brunson/Marbury
SG Houston/Starks
SF OG/Melo/Hart
PF Amar'e/Randle/Oakley
C Towns/Ewing/Camby

90s

PG Brunson/Harper
SG Sprewell/Starks (better D)
SG OG/Melo/Hart
PF Randle/Oakley/Amar'e
C Ewing/Towns/Camby

This is not necessarily the BEST players at each position, but those I enjoyed watching and having on the team:

PG Brunson/Harper/Jeremy Lin (HOW HAS NO ONE LISTED LIN??)/Nate Robinson
SG Starks/Sprewell/Divencenzo
SF Xavier McDaniel/Steve Novak/Josh Hart
PF Stoudamire (for 1.5 year!)/Randle/Mason/KP
C Ewing/iHart/Mitch

Here are some of my LEAST favorites:
PG Steve Francis/Frank Ntilikina
SG Gerald Wilkins
SF Charles Smith/Kevin Knox
PF Jared Jeffries/Mo T
C Eddy Curry/Jerome James/Joakim Noah

Nothing but love for OG. I do love my 3&Ds. And yes I chose both Bridges and Houston over Starks. Still not over that 2/18 performance in Game 7 in 1994.

Brunson / Marbury / Jackson
Sprewell / Bridges / Houston
OG / Melo / LJ
Stat / Camby / Randle
Ewing / Towns / Chandler

You know I gonna spin wit it

PG Frazier/Richardson/Strickland
SG Brunson/Monroe/Houston
C Ewing/KAT/Reed
PF Debusschere/Mase/Oakley
SF King/OG/Bradley

The Frazier/Monroe backcourt was epic.
Brunson would be even better playing next to Clyde as the primary PG.
Mase was a mean 6'8" even though sometimes he is listed as a SF. He'd be even better in today's game.

First thought outside of Jalen for point was Strickland. He didn't get the play (therefore the numbers) in NY, but he was an excellent traditional PG. Imagine if the 1990s team had him at the point with PE, Oak, Starks, Houston, LJ, Mason, Kurt, X, Charles Smith, Harper...maybe even Christie. I know why they stuck with Marc for so long, but Rodney was the overall better point.

Too hard to choose overall, but the non-Knick version of the '90s Strickland at the point would be one of my choices.

Best all time Knicks (top three at each position)

Pg: Brunson/Frazier/Marbury
SG: Houston/Sprewell/Starks
SF: OG/Carmelo/King
PF: Randle/David Lee/Oakley
C: Ewing/Towns/Camby

I am not old enough to have seen the other 70s guys play, so no disrespect to them. The only 70s guy I would put on all time great at a position is Clyde.

Trust the Process

80's......By 1980 the legends were retired. Clyde did play a bit in 1980 but that was in Clevland.

Brunson, Michael Ray Richardson, Jeremy Lin
H20, Sprewell, Paul Westphal
King, Melo, Bridges
OG, KP, David Lee
Ewing, KAT, Camby

Love the Lin recognition . He woke us up in a time of need. I was so sad when he signed that deal with the rockets .

Thought he was our future, remember the book hand shake he had with Landry fields lol.

Also loved watching

lil Nate the great and David Lee

I was at the game with my dad when Lee tipped in the .01 shot to win the game vs the bobcats . During the timeout the guy sitting next to us looked over and said “I gotta go to the bathroom looks like another OT” …

Then Boom historic garden moment

The garden exploded the guy came running out like what the hell happened!! He couldn’t believe he missed it.

Paul Wesptphal was just past his as a knick but he was a great SG in PHX! He had Hops like DDV!

Jackson was very good for awhile, but in hindsight you have to choose Strickland over him. Rod didn't get to really unleash his jets until he was traded and had his own team to run, but he was one of the most athletically exciting PGs of his time. MJ was not exciting, just effective in his own slower way.

Yeah, Strickland was a stud.

I would love to see Johnny Newman as a sixth man on this current team

He'd chew the league up

I'd say this is pretty spot on with mine too.

Starting lineup:

PG: Brunson
SG: Bernard King
SF: Carmelo
PF: Towns
C: Ewing

King was SF when he played in the 80’s but he would be a wing SG/SF today
