If Brogden and Shamet make it through training camp looking good, realistically only Kolek and Dadiet are the tradable assets?

For me, it would be Kolek going out for second rounders.

My mind tends to go right to Deuce (think he's eligible for extension next year) and I also tend to wonder if Deuce could be packaged with Mitch for something of significance.

Walker Kessler type big?

Clearly the possible additions of Clarkson, Brogdon, Mathews & Shamet could be viewed as backfills for no Deuce.

That's very reasonable --- I've been thinking something bigger.

My suggestion of Deuce, possibly Mitch could be a way for Knicks to define salary commitments in future years. Trade 2 guys nearly due contract extensions for someone on fixed deal would provide cost certainty for 2026/2027 (to some degree).

I'm probably way off but tend to get lured into trade scenarios.

Ideally Brogdon is added in a scenario where we can control his minutes / playing time without necessarily needing him on the floor every night.

Saving for post season health.

I have had Deuce in the back of my mind as someone who the Knicks would move in this type situation.

Deuce can also be a significant player off the bench in a needed role as POA defender and spacer. But he would be the easiest to move at his contract level.

He'd be a sneaky good player to work with Kolek too?

I'd guess that Brodgon is signed just in case Brunson goes down for a month.

Hey brothers! Hope everyone had a great summer!

This signing was def surprising! Brogdon is not some bum at the end of the bench. He's a legit veteran who can still play and contribute so I'm not sure what the plan is. He won 6MOTY in 23! At the very least it will make training camp and the preseason interesting to see who get's that last roster spot between him, Shammy and Matthews.

Deuce is not a trade on his own guy. He's a stack on to someone else. The reason being is that at his salary slot and production, its impossible to get equal value back in a trade. You'd be salary dumping Deuce which makes no sense because his salary is small. Someone would have to send a really nice first rounder back to make it interesting, but at this point in the season that's not the type of trade you'd be making since you are trying to win a championship right now.
