you are right, I think. I did some subsequent searching and it seems like that comment was a fake, i.e., it's on the internet but a fake. That said he's still a dirtbag and see my other post (forget which topic) where the NBA would be better served embracing Jalen as The Golden Boy -- for multiple reasons

Have you ever been to a regular season nets game in Jersey? Even when they were good in the Kidd years it was dark and depressing and the building was half empty. I used to drive to the meadowlands and get tickets to playoff games at the box office day of the game for $25. The devils arena in Newark is way better than the Izod Center but it’s still going to be a haunted house November - February especially if the team isn’t good.

Izod center been dormant since 2015. That arena was awful. Once you been to MSG most arenas are crap. Even though its the oldest in NBA, the dropped down pinwheel ceiling gives it character and acustic qualities not found in buildings.

For what its worth I respect the last effort to build a contender with Durant and Kyrie. They came close.
Paid Durant a full season to sit, and had to deal with Kyries ****.
I know im in the minority here but I can deal with Nets success as I'd rather it be in NY than in boston or other places!
Also rooting for a real rivalry. Important games would be cool!
