OG was defensively brilliant.

He was very discipline on defense, using his length, strength and IQ. Just need him to stay healthy for us to have a chance.

You pulled this up from the dead, nice.

Question…is there a a search button or easy way to find old threads?

Pano revived it from this past January so its as not that far back. Just a few weeks. The UK does not have a search button for old threads of topics.

There are a few threads that stand out in my head representative of some of the individual players to which I default to discuss them.:
OG = BOO YAH
Mikal = should we freak out
Brunson = 1A
Deuce = bullish

Not sure for Kat or Hart
We should just pin a thread for each player.

While there are always more factors involved OG's gaudy winning % since joining the Knicks is why he got paid as he does.
His offense for sure does not measure to his salary, but the intangibles do. He is often tasked with guarding a teams best player and disrupts in many ways. Last night they pointed out what we often see, a player simply gets "discouraged" and backs out of an iso. Saw this with Zach Lavine, and last night with Herro. He took him out of the game mentally.

Chemistry with Hart and Mikal is a challenge which Thibs has yet to unlock in its entirety.

OG has a point about his DPOY candidacy. What’s the stat for getting a screen/switch called to avoid OG? Tatum wanted nothing to do with him all night.

Crow. Ca caw. My boy is wicked smart.

Why has Toronto been so bad?

Its a lot to give up for someone there;s not signed

Rebounds or not, there's no way he's worth $40m. I would not pay him more than JB and Randle. How does that make sense?

One year later, I still don't see how the Knicks paid him $40m. Great defender, yes, but not a $40M player. I'd argue he's #5 on offense if Brikal hasn't been stinking up the joint so bad of late. That he's paid more than Brunson is ridiculous. That he's paid double what Hart makes, also silly.

Bump. 2 years later, still don't see how we gave this guy this contract. So weak execution on offense in the paint. Give me an Amen Thompson or Dillon Brooks for that money.

I like OG and do not regret the trade or contract yet but he should not be the second go-to guy on the team.

Yet the real second go-to guy has been terrible and let’s not even talk about the disappointing act of Mikal Bridges.

Have to consider OG not doing much on his feet since he been out.
It sucked watching that game last night and SVG would not shut the **** up........
We love it when they win and berate them when not.
Pistons got our number.

You keep judging OG by his offensive capabilities. What are you expecting?

It’s like having a cat and wondering why he ain’t a dog.

Agree…

Plus I value 2 way players higher, especially OG who can also stretch the floor and attack the paint. You live with the TOs. It’s the availability for me…let’s see how he holds up in the playoffs when it counts.

For those who profess to loving the good old days of Knick toughness one has to behold OG defensive prowess from time to time.
Not the highlight reels, but the grind of him shutting down his coverage.

Wow seeing the early reactions on this thread…not good. I would imagine that narrative flipped instantly as this is one of the best trades any Knicks front office has made since I can remember.

OG would be more impactful getting majority of his mins at SF instead of PF. Obviously playing alongside of another more natural PF to make this the case. Where his size, strength and length at the position is a greater mismatch.

We lack the roster to allow him to do so (until Mo is ready) to remedy that since losing IHart forcing the KAT trade. When OG was first traded for and he lined up at SF next to Randle & IHart. Knicks were 26-4 with him in the lineup including playoffs.

This is key. Trading for a " normal" PF or better yet developing Mo will make this team huge and compliment OG greatly if he is playing the 3. We will also be a able to switch even better

Mikal, OG, Mo. Surrounded by Brunson and Towns/Mitch. I can really really dig that.
