I didn't say he *never* shot his team out of games. Even Michael Jordan sometimes did that.

I love being correct but I really love that you have been so exposed.

I love being exposed for being correct too

BTW, here are Kobe's TS%s by the month:

October (2 games): .701
November: .611
December: .572
January: .537

I see no reason to back down from the claim that his high volume shooting was helping the team October through December but it's clear it's not helping this month. You may have thought I meant it, but I never said that he would continue to be a top 5 MVP candidate throughout the whole season. Saying that would have violated my most basic belief - that the career data is the best sample to use.
I am flattered that you are so invested in the accuracy of my beliefs though.

Dude the Lakers started the season 1-4(Lakers defense was solid but Brown fired) so while Kobe was getting his TS% on it wouldn't be the reason he's sitting strong for MVP candidacy. The Lakers have the majority of this season been trash. So I guess depending on the month it's either TS% strong consideration or WS consideration or WP consideration. His TS% has been in a rapid decline since the start of the season which begs to question I took gripe this week with him being a Top 5 MVP which would have been valid but you would not back down from being....

STUBBONN

Let me give you a Hockey Assist.....what you should have said....yeah Kobe at this point in time of the MVP candidacy should not be in anyone's Top 5 as his play has been declining along with lack of team success, but things can change.

I will put it this way: if you confound team success with player performance, Kobe was never a top 5 player this year. If you look solely at player performance - rather than blaming or crediting the player for the performance of his teammates - he was a top 5 player, though.
Honestly, you seem much more stubborn than I am though. To me, Kobe is just one of a list of players I included as MVP candidates. To you, it something you can't stop talking about.

Kobe is relatively in the Scussin, just not Top 5.

That's fine. After his recent play, I would demote him to top 10.

I initially thought that, then I looked at the standings and saw that if we lose 2 or 3 more games (very possible) we plummet from 2nd in the east to 7th! How did all those other teams gain on us?!

We're in trouble...

grizzlies were lucky we were tired and they ahve gotten way too many breaks

Every since this game we've gone.....17-11 after a 6-1 start and we are 5-7 over our past 12gms.

nah, it's injuries more than anything- I thought we'd struggle once Felton went down- although we were struggling a bit just before that, you can see how much we miss him. Factor in Melo with his injuries and suspension, and Sheed being out, Amr'e working his way back in. We came close to winning some of those games we lost- things aren't as bad as they seem.

At the same time it took a couple J.R. Smith miracles to pull out a couple of them against weak teams. And if Felton's absence has this much hold on our team then what does that speak of his value? I never heard much talk as I do now about Felton's import to this team when he was playing. Even Sheed for the matter. We've played about .500 basketball no matter who's been injured with some injuries overalapping. It's our drop in 3pt shooting and defense and our schedule getting slightly tougher than at season's begin. Most of our losses are against current Playoff teams.

All we've heard up until recent was Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo Melo

You don't think a starting caliber point guard makes a difference to a team? Weren't you paying attention last season? Yep, people weren't saying how important Felton and Sheed were to this team before because sometimes you don't realize until players are gone how important they were. Also some people just like to focus on the negatives and criticize players rather than acknowledging what they do for us.

FTs were horrible. Everybody missed from Asik to Parsons to Lin to Harden. It was like a disease that everyone caught. They make their FTs they win the game.

Jordan Hill is out for the season with loose bone fragments and a torn something or other in his hip. Who'd of thought even young players can get injured! Anyways, this affects us as it means the Lakers will be looking to sign a PF on the cheap, which is something we're also considering. Not much out there except Birdman and K-mart.

I have had Faried on my fantasy team for a while now - his doing really well. That last game was a monster effort with 19-19
