![]() Biggest mistake made was right after the eagles eliminated the Giants in 08 season in the playoffs should have fired Tom Coughlin and kept Spags.

Spags isn't doing much in St. Louis either, they're just fortunate enough to play in the worst division in the NFL... i'd rather have Cowher than him anyway if we're going to hire a new head coach. Spags is basically rebuilding that team from ground up. They are in a better position to make the playoffs than the Giants. I'll agree with you Cowher should be the next coach of the Giants. Its just time to move on now this is the second melt down in two years for the Giants. |

Fewell has failed to impress at all in big games this year, & i would kill to have Spags back as our DC right now... he's doing as good a job as can be expected running w/a rookie QB, i will acknowledge that, but we had to figure he was gonna get a job somewhere anyway... i think the time has come for Cowher to be brought in... i'm sick & tired of seeing this team make the same damn mistakes week after week no matter how many times Coughlin says they need to fix it in his postgame comments... the team obviously isn't listening... sometimes a new voice is needed... or sometimes new players... Jerry Reece needs to do some hard evaluating of these players to weed out the ones that never seem to be able to learn from past mistakes. ![]() let's see how the playoff picture shapes up now... from what i gather, Giants have to beat the Skins next week & hope either GB loses to the Bears or the Saints lose their last 2 games according to this website:
http://www.kbtx.com/sports/headlines/NFL_playoff_picture_and_scenarios_112484204.html if that's accurate, then basically i think our playoff hopes are pretty much shot... Chicago's already clinched their division so they have nothing to play for in wk 17 while GB has everything on the line, & there's no way the Saints are losing 2 straight, especially at home in wk 17 to the Bucs... next week's game is for pride only... IMO Coughlin will be fired after this season & Bill Cowher will be our next head coach. the only possible thing we can hope or at this point if we want to sneak into the playoffs is for Philly to beat the Vikings on Tuesday night so it puts them into a tie w/the Bears recordwise at 11-4 with the 2nd best records in the NFC... that way the Bears will have something to play for in week 17 (1st round bye in the playoffs) & might put up a fight in GB, but i still think they lose that game... GB looked really strong today, i don't see any way Chicago beats them next week if Rodgers is gonna throw w/that kind of accuracy all game long. ![]() The Eagles are blowing the game against the Vikings. Our season is basically over.
My one thought right now is I don't want Cowher. I don't think his coaching style/philosophy fits with our roster on defensive side of the ball. I don't see this team as a fit for the Steeler 3-4 defense. It would entail a big roster makeover. I really do think the Giants still have a lot of talent and would benefit more from a coach like Gruden. I think Gruden would help cut down the turnovers on offense and I generally think he's more adaptable. More or less a matter of preference, but that's just where my thoughts are. I also think if Jason Garrett is let go by the Cowboys that he is a good long term coaching candidate. I think he's gonna be a succesful head coach. |

![]() Maybe we'll get lucky and make a run. Here's some good news...
Not much has gone right for the Giants in the past two weeks, but they finally got one piece of good news out of Chicago. Bears coach Lovie Smith was adamant that he will use his starters against the Packers, despite the fact that Chicago wrapped up a No. 2 seed and a bye with the Eagles loss on Tuesday night. The Giants need a win over the Redskins and the Bears to beat the Packers on Sunday to get into the playoffs. "That doesn't affect us. We're playing our biggest rival this week,” Smith said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We have an opportunity to do something that's never been done in the NFC North, and that's win every game in the division. We want to continue to improve going into the playoffs.” The Bears, who beat the Packers in Week 3, also have an outside shot at the No. 1 seed. If the Falcons lose to the Panthers and Falcons fall to the Bucs in the early games on Sunday, the Bears could get the NFC’s top spot with a victory in Green Bay. "We know for sure we have a bye, but nothing else has changed,” Smith said. “We have a typical Wednesday practice today and we're getting ready to play a very good Green Bay Packers team." The Giants lost to the Packers 45-17 on Sunday, giving Green Bay the tie-breaker if the two 9-6 teams finish with the same record. Then the Giants learned Tuesday that top receiver Hakeem Nicks will miss the game against Washington with a broken toe. A reporter questioned Smith again about resting his starters and he left little room for speculation. "You're part of this conversation we just had, right?" Smith said. "We're playing to win the game.” Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/giants_catch_break_bears_will_play_pFbeIuMiQ0yLWYI60Fy0eJ#ixzz19XX9ovyj |

![]() if the G-Men play the way they did last week, they won't have to worry about what the Bears do cuz we won't beat any team in the NFL playing like that.
