Does anyone know Q's contract? Is this going to destroy the cap even more than it already is?

Lets clear some cap space for a serious lebron run

Isiah better not back away this time...he screwd us twice already with his reluctance to trade Kurt....Look he tried to trade Kurt for Malik when he first arrive and Malik still ends up a Knick but at the expense of Nazr instead. He better does this deal

Stephen A. Smith: It's going to involve a conditional 1st round pick coming to NY as well. The deal is pretty much done, pending Isiah signing off on it.

It's pretty much the same as Kurt's, actually a little smaller. But it runs longer. Runs five more years, where Kurt's ran three more years.

that would be outstanding!

This would be a dream scenario... What if it involves us getting their 21 st pick this year. So now we'd have 8, 21, 30 and 54 plus Q for KT and a fut 07 1st rder... That be Awesome!!!!!!!!

Conditional usually means that you don't where the pick is falling just yet. Though, if this trade involved a swap of 30 for 21, I would be ecstatic.

Do they have the 21st pick this year? They finished with the league's best record; so it would have to be a pick that they acquired from another team.

I hope that both the league and isiah approve this deal....we can't no longer afford to mess around with trading Kurt...He has been nothing but bad luck to the Knicks

Yeah, Phoenix has the pick owed to them from Chicago.

Bad luck? If we're getting into luck, it's not like Stephon has been our four leaf clover either. Comeon man, just appreciate the fact that he's gone if you can't stand Kurt so much, but let's not make excuses about it.

Anyone think that trading Kurt for Q would make Fran Vazquez a sure pick at #8?

soudns like QRich isn't too happy about being a Knick, although it is curious how they could get an interview with him so fast...

No. Not if Isiah knows what he is doing. You don't trade a PF that creates a problem because there are already too many of those, only to bring another PF with your lottery pick. Someone better will be avaliable! Believe me!

I don't know how you can say such a thing...No one wants to be traded after just 1 year...but he understands that he will be in a bigger market and he should welcome the challenge...

Let's see how bad of a PG Marburry is....It looks to me that Isiah is working really hard to surround Marb with athletes..

Well, what would you expect. You are in a very talented team that just had the best record in the league and made a nice playoff run, kind of like the first step for a young team to become an experienced playoff one. Then you get traded to a lottery team that has many good guards already, not a very talented team (yet), and have to start all over again in a new place. Its a normal first reaction.
Once he talks to Isiah and he sells his vision to him, and he is told that he will go back to the best part of his game (shooting less 3s, posting up, rebounding) he will like the move.

Q and Marb are friends, and most of all, Isiah will welcome this dude with open arms....He is a hell of a locker room presence, and perhaps that is what our boys were missing. Q and JYD are going to clown everyone on that team...Look for the Knicks to become a very cohesive team...because good chemistry starts in the locker room..

As per The Chad...

By Chad Ford
ESPN Insider

The Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks are in serious talks about a trade that would send Quentin Richardson and a conditional future first-round pick to the Knicks for Kurt Thomas two league sources said.

However, both sources claim that the trade hasn't been completed.

The trade, if it is consummated, would be a good one for both teams. Thomas can provide the Suns more toughness in the paint. He also can play center, allowing the Suns to move Amare Stoudemire back to his natural position at the four. The deal would also clear some cap space, long term, for the Suns, who must re-sign Joe Johnson this summer.

The Knicks have a log jam at the four and have been trying to move Thomas for a month. Richardson will be a good fit in the Knicks offense. He'd give Stephon Marbury a good shooter to kick it to on penetration. He'd also give the Knicks a swing man who can post up and rebound.

The headline says the opposite though, that Phoenix gets teh conditional first rounder. Who knows, Chad got a lot of stuff wrong on the Mo Taylor deal.

I gotta think that this "future" 1st round pick is in this draft. I mean as deep as this draft is and as active as we know Isiah has been in trying to get a pick...
8-Graham
21-Petro or Bynum
30-Turiaf or Taft
54-Schenser?

Buyout(one way or another)-Houston, Penny

Trade TT and Sweets for Boozer
Hunter MLE

Hunter/Petro/Butler(?)
Boozer/Turiaf/Malik
Q/Ariza/JYD
Marbury/Graham/Crawford

IL-Taylor
