I absolutely hate it. Seriously, two free throws is apart of the game … gives players rest and can change the momentum of the game…

Absolutely hate it… dumb… bush league or in this case summer league lol

There is alot to like about Kayil. He has great size and looks decent on defense. I hope we start him today at the PG position and give him 30 minutes to try and run the offense.

Trust the Process

Im not going there but some of the Tyler Nickel posts about his accent are really quite funny.
Someone said they remade the awful movie "Soul Man", but in reverse.

Some things being written today that his play could end any return of McCullar?
In win now mode make Dadiet a trade piece?
Kayil perhaps take Koleks spot?

Summer league does little as we all know setting the table. Seems like these guys get evaluated and then spend the rest of the summer working on things. PErhaps the same for Mo Diawra?

Knicks a long way from setting its roster. UnLess Jamison is the one we do need another big.

He's a country boy from very predominantly white town. You would think he was from the hood the way he speaks. Not that I care but, since you went there.

He definitely isn't helping McCullars chances but, there's always a two way option for McC.
Dadiet is absolutely a player who could be traded. Among others.
Speaking of others...Kayil could very well make Kolek another trade piece.

Nickel and Kayil both looked solid so far but, no one else has. It's only summer league. Right? So far I am not impressed with anyone else on the roster but, whatever. Dadiet and Mo D both need work.

Despite SL being an imperfect measure of a player's development, I feel certain about Nickel being ready to step right into the rotation and perform the role he was drafted for.

And if that is the one sure thing I can take away from SL, I'll take it. Most SL's provide nothing conclusive. However, I am confident about Nickel.

Walking away from SL with one new and potentially impactful rotation player is a big win IMO.

The plays they ran to get Nickel open are very common at the NBA level and that looks like it transfers.
Kayil is a harder read. Im just looking at reel and its mixed.
Really its about what they are asking these guys to do and execute. Winning is not that important. I say that cuz the box scores look awful for knicks!
I know we all have our favorites and wishes for their success.
Coaches and FO have their agenda's and not much room for rooks on this championship team.
Nothing would suprise me as some of our yoot can go either way really.
For goodness sake Trev Keels is still only 22! He does have a birthday next Month! LOL........

Wow, Sellers is fast. Highlight play went end to end in a flash.

First good basketball of SL

First half highlights

Robbins was impressive, did it all, shooting for range, banging for boards, putbacks, defense and very good passing.
May be the kind of player who can thrive around better talent, because he looks fundamentally sound with better ball movement today.

Sellers is one of the fastest players I've seen in a while.
He uses his speed to get open for easy hoops and can push the ball upcourt in a heartbeat. Someone to keep an eye on.

Nickel did Nickel things and had a few mishaps, but overall same solid shooting and defense and good passes.
He's not fast with the ball when driving so he's going to need a floater when he penetrates.

Jones was a bit better. He has a handle. He just seems to lack the final move on a lot of plays. IOW, he gets around on the court, but doesn't nail the execution much of the time. Might become a competent backup PG with another year of G League, but he is not ready.

Kayil can turn a corner and get inside. Can pass too. Need to see more though

This German kid can ball… I can see why they said if he went to Gonzaga he would have been a lotto pick… Leon strikes again!

He's got more fizz to his pop than Dadiet

Kayil shined in this second half. Does have that IT factor. Has a very nice dynamic of aggression + control. Can do most things well already.

Trade Dadiet and put this kid on a two way contract this year and he may be ready for the main club after a year of seasoning.

Dillon Jones settled in finally and had his best half in SL to end the game.

Was finally executing whereas before he was falling short on his feeds or shots.

I liked what we saw from Kayil. He looks like an nba player. Nickel couldn’t shoot inside the 3pt line but I keep seeing what will make him an nba player, the catch and shoot ability and the aggression on defense.

Really like what I see with Nickel. Kayil is also turning my head as well. Both players look like could contribute in the future. Liam Robbins is 27? He looked pretty solid out there.

Time will always tell with prospects. I try not to get too high or too low on anything summer league but, you can see flashes in there to build from. I think the expanded role on a make shift team could be why Mo looks shaky so far.

Kolek/Dadiet are on the hot seat at this point. Kayil/Nickel are the shiny new toys. It's only a matter of time/development and cap space for these guys. I don't see all 4 making the team long term. We still need a third center and Dadiet may not make it to the regular season.

Don't see anyone pining about Ugonna Onyenso, so that means we're OK with trading him away for the moment?
