I am less invested in this team than in the defective Brunson-Randall era. This doesn't sting.

At this point, he should be the fulcrum of everything we do. I'm still baffled by Brown going small to start the 4th without KAT for those 3 minutes. It cost us the game because we got literally nothing out of those guys |

I agree 100%...at the midway point I put more blame on KAT vs Brunson but if you had to pick between the two (since you can't effectively play both at the same time) I would no doubt move Brunson as the ball sticks too much with him. I don't care how clutch he is and I understand he will probably come back and win us 1 of the next 2 games with his hero ball. Doesn't matter when we can't unlock or come close to maximize the talents around him. Much rather a pass first guard that can defend adequately. I know we wouldn't win with Alvardo but I would honestly rather play him vs Brunson because at least I know he tries to pass, defend and hustle. I grew up on 80s and 90s Knicks and hate this iso/hero ball! Won't happen but best thing Brown could try to do would be to start sitting Brunson when the ball doesn't move. At least I could respect Brown for trying something different instead of riding this crap style the rest of the way. |

I think his optimized utility is as a no.2 scorer, which we can't accomodate with KAT here (or Randle). It's why I still think the best move was figuring out how to dump Randle, slide Bridges into his role as no.2, then use Randle's money to retain iHart who is incredibly underrated as a facilitator at 7"0'. That dude could see over the defense and dimed up cutters like regularly. |

The Hawks are still sending two at him which opens people up. The problem is that we have no secondary action if/when Brunson kicks out. It far too often becomes someone barrelling into the lane and getting the ball deflected, which fuels the Hawks' transition game. Outside of that and CJ's iso game, the Hawks have no offense....but we insist on playing to their strengths. |
