If they succeed in cutting off the options, Jalen is locked down.

It can be both a failure to execute (Knicks) and a successful execution on behalf of the defense (ATL) at the same time.

Interesting that you say this, because in the 4th quarter of the game tonight I saw both Alvarado and Brunson dribbling hard to the rim and blowing by ATL defenders standing around in the paint. It was interesting because I hadn't seen that before, i.e. straight line attacks by our guards instead dribbling around to find the seams.

It was like they mainlined Josh's full court dribble attacks. I think the Knicks guards figured out that if they motor ASAP they'll get more porous defenses to drive straight through. No hezis, just hit the pedal to the medal somewhere between mid-court and top of the key and you'll get some easy buckets. They need to do it more.

Good spacing or floor balance by the other teammates too

The plays that lead to the plays......
ATL offense stalled/turnovers did them in. Knicks got into their pace and the beat down occured. By the 4th ATL was beaten.
Knicks looked to be doing what ATL has been previously.....Reaching in and slapping the ball.
Your not wrong and by the 4th they were making a statement. Jalen was ball hogging, dancing, and seemed to be on a mission at times. This was them putting the heal into their necks and not letting go!
ATL tried to push Jalen and doubled him at times.
The exlamation point? A few. KAT no doubt set the table with his drives to the basket. ANd he don't fall down!
The Mikal down the lane dunk. NObody covered. Like Moses parted the red sea!
My favorite? OG bully his way in and just dunked over Johnson like a big brother with a nerf ball with a basket on teh closet door! Just flat out went in and in his chest! OG 5-8 with 10 rebs! A demon on defense! Looked like Little Kawhi with that elbow jumper on the right side!

We solved for Kuminga. He looked to have a bad game which is not uncommon. Alexander-Walker got going a bit late. That kid from

What did knicks do differently? Closed down CJ and let Daniels do it. They had him on KAT defensively.
Last night we used our size and slowed them down. The defense was won the game then Jalen started dancing.
When it works, its pretty. HE was passing out to create the space. If ATL got caught one on one, he laid into that!

IF one considers game two bad ending and game three slow start, outside of that knicks are kicking their butts! ATL got two 1 pt wins. Game 6 in ATL? They will adjust and try to counter. I hope they can end this series.

Bos-Philly.........

Glad PHilly came to play and hope they can take them 7.
But if they do, have to deal with that fact. THEY WOULD HAVE BEATEN BOSTON and if so, is Embiid getting stronger?
I know he is a "7foot pile of ****!" but he was the best player in the game when he got hurt years ago and still very dangerous with PG13. Two HOFers! Add Maxy and you have three allstars with Edgecome who is a ster in the making himself!
I think I would fear Philly more than Boston. My preference is let then beat each other up then give me a tired Celtic team.
Until then knicks themselves have to take care of business on Thursday!

Maybe Clyde needs to tone it down just a smidge? That jacket? The fabric looked like it came from a curbide disposal of an unbought lazy boy reclinder from an estate sale waitig for disposal!

I love clyde! Anyone check out Reggie last night fawning over his love for the first signiture shoe in the business? They were talking about the kentucky derby and a horse named "Puma". It was irrelevant banter during a blow out win and they digressed into why it was Reggies pick.
Knicks win and villians past and present are irrelevant!

Haven't watched but I don't know if Boston is beating themselves or if Philly is beating them at the 3 point line with their perimeter D. Or both

what Boston has done this year is amazing; guys really stepped up when a down year would have been totally understandable/forgivable

VJ Edgecomb is the X factor for Philly. Very poised, confident but not overly so, and when he's really on he's better than Maxey IMO

ppl say RJ is empty stats but he's leading TOR in these playoffs to what could be a huge upset.

RJ did well in the 2023 playoffs while Randle imploded.

He was the Knicks best player in the 2023 playoffs.

Raptors without IQ and Ingram just could not pull it out.
Thats their back court. IQ a good dude and got his bag. Played only 33 games in his first full season with Raptors but did play 70 this year.
I think he mostly banged up and was trying to play thru injuries which created more pressure to perform.
His point totals were down but shooting % not too bad.

PhilC: Sorry, have to call you out on this one. Just becaue you don't like Adam Silver don't mean league does not know what they are doing. Parity gives hope. These playoffs thus far are interesting to alot of people.

First understand that not everything league does is "Adam Silver". He is the CEO and the NBA has 30 owners.
If revenue is a measure of growth, they are growing.
Expansion? Im not necessarily for it but do get its been a while since they last did it and the international game over 30 years has produced many allstars and MVP's now as well as depth for the league. The talent pool is richer in my opinion now.
Not sure how the European expansion will work but its solidifying the future and perhaps a pathway for true global league in time.
with Supersonic Travel about to revive again soon it could close some of the issues preventing true global expansion.

Viewership modelas have changed since the heyday of network domination of the broadcasts. I don't have full expertiese on the matters but im not dumb enough to say just because I don't like something does not mean its not succeeding.

All sports over a full season has declining viewership via traditional methoeds and fans watch replays, highlights, and stream which is not fully accountable. Gambling revenue is a growing source as are international broadcasts. While it has to end at some point but until that happens franchise valuations keep rising.

And yes, all major sports has them booing their Commish when he grabs the microphone!

TOR came so close to going up 3-2. Imagine TOR, ORL and PHI all advancing.?

There is a legit chance that all the East matchups go 7 games besides Knicks and that is wild to me
