Thought Obi was playing well and we are so smooth/fast with Obi plus Obi now a better lateral defender vs RJ - shame he was benched for RJ down stretch.

I just don't understand his thought process on many of his drives to the basket...It's like he's running toward a wall he knows he can't jump over but instead of slowing down, assessing the situation, and making adjustments, he just keeps on going, until he crashes into that wall.

He thinks he is faster than he is- only explanation.

Randle is too slow with the ball in every way. In transition he is slow and in ISO with decision making. Obi won't get you 57 because that is not his game. He is not going to dominate the ball. He will move the ball if he has nothing. The ball movement and player movement is why this team was so hard to guard. The Cavs had no idea who was going to get the ball.

With Randle it is easy to guard. Throw a double at him when he turns his back or when he dribbles then play the passing lanes. Randle will get his number from all the touches he will get but he is inefficient so you will win those battles more often than not unless he is just hot like in Miami.

With Obi you can't plan for him and the team because whoever is open gets the ball. Not only that you now have to account for Obi in transition. This opens up the offensive rebounding for the Hart brothers and Mitch. With Obi it is not about raw numbers because he will never dominate the ball to get consistent high points. He will also have low rebounds usually because he leaks out on transition. Listen to what D Mitch had to say about why they gave up so many rebounds. This is also why Obi who is always one of the nicest people gets pissed when people miss him on cuts and leak outs. Just like how I was pissed when we were not using IHarts passing before. This is their specialty. If you are not using it they are severely limited in their contributions.

I think this is a great comparison on the offensive end. He is a shorter Larry Bird on offense. Dude can't run fast or jump high but his knowledge of angles, footwork and change of speed is just phenomenal. Adding that 3 point shot just solidifies it for me. I think it's safe to say Brunson is the best free agent signing in Knicks history! It isn't even close! I knew he was a good player but I had no idea he was this good! He was the best player on the floor last night which included Spida. Brunson was just unstoppable! He's so much fun to watch too! Kind of player that makes you want to hit the gym afterwards and try some of his footwork and moves! And to make it even better, he is someone your kinds can look up to! No drama, great teammate, hardworking, doesn't seek attention. Perfect PG that took decades to finally acquire! Career game last night with 48! I really wanted him to get that 50 but I have a feeling that will come soon. Loved how aggressive he was to start the game knowing Randle leads the league in first quarter scoring and Spida was in the zone hitting everything.

Very surprised to see RJ and Obi get into it in the huddle. It happens. It's really not uncommon and not really a big deal but it was surprising it was them considering how poise and 'friendly' both seem to be. But I kind of get it from Obi's point of view. There isn't a player on the team I curse at and insult more then RJ. He's extremely frustrating to watch. It must be even worse being a teammate and watching a guy make dumb turnovers, miss defensive assignments and miss wide open layup's and ruin multiple fastbreaks. I like RJ and really want him to succeed but he needs a big playoffs. He's been the most disappointing player this season by far imo.

I know Brunson scored a career high 48 but this was a total team effort. Everyone played a role in this win. The Centers were excellent! Rob with the offensive rebounding and blocks and Hartenstein with the passing and defense. That bounce pass to my guy Deuce for the dunk got me hyped! Hart played just great defense on Spida! Stole the ball from him a couple of times and was just a menace! I thought Thibs coached a good game too. There were definitely adjustments made in the second half after the Cavs scored 72. We held them to 44 in the second half and 14 in the fourth!

Not sure if this game will mean anything in two weeks. Probably not but it sends a message that Cleveland is in for a fight. This will not be an easy series or a repeat of the Hawks series. Not with Brunson.
