You've been waiting 9+ games to quote me on having a FUN TIME.

So once again.

Shut up.

Awwww... wats the matter...?

Nothings wrong.

I'm as excited as an NYK fan as ever before.

Knicks are 12-3 previous 15 @ .800% and 9-1 previous 10 @ 900%.

You didn't post not 1 time within this game thread but then took the time to quote me (while having fun during our 9 game winning streak) with your very 1st post of this thread?

(Jokes on you).

So once again, nothings "the matter" other than me realizing what type of "fan" you are.

9-0 must've had you PISSED OFF 😭🤷‍♂️😂

Actually, I loved the winning streak. The most fun I've had watching basketball since Linsanity. And I love coming here and hearing other's views on things. Except I can't focus on what others are saying with you yapping like a rabid chihuahua all the time. With your ranting posts loaded with emoticons, honestly it hurts my eyes.
As I've mentioned before, I'm a middle of the road guy and extremists of all flavors get under my skin.

Hurts your eyes so much where you took the time to quote my each and every post within the game thread after the loss?

You made 0 posts throughout the entire game thread (that I gave effort into creating) but then popped out of nowhere with 10 GameDay thread quotes of mine?

Funny to me.

Because you never did any of the above during our 9 consecutive game win streak, now did you?

Nope. You didn't.

You waited for a loss to take out your Knicks "frustrations" out on, me

And that's absolutely pathetic.

For the record, there's gotta be a much easier way. But I was learning Python anyway, so...

Every game has a unique game ID, which I still manually grab from the address bar like a neanderthal.

For the Hornets game, data was at these two locations, for game ID 1051377...

https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/basketball/nba/scores/1051377
https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/basketball/nba/summary/1051377

The first URL wasn't good enough for scraping everything, because the scoreboard morphs/changes during, and after the game.

So I grab the player data from the first URL, and the scoreboard data from the second.

Another caveat... the player stats and scoreboard have lag on their website. The scoreboard is updated like a minute after reality. And what's worse, the player stats occasionally have a slightly longer lag time. So the player stats are not always completely in sync with their scoreboard.

Maybe you're just interested in scores, in which case, maybe the second URL is enough.

In any case, I grab the game ID, plug it into my Python script, and push a button.

BTW, I looked for available web API's, rather than scraping, but couldn't find any that provided all of the data I was looking for.

More info than you asked for.

That 3Rd was a bad bad omen I would have loved to see McBride get the game ball- he was playing great. Rose and Fournier should have been used to give the offense a lift. Sims rebounding, maybe that double center lineup with him and Hartenstein. Tough loss.

Perhaps. In retrospect, sure we could have kept Randle, IQ and RJ at around 30 minutes. (5 less than they had) Believe that was probably the plan until we lost the big lead and needed to end the 4th with our best. The fan will always want to blame the coach for a loss without taking into account the playing side. For me, it was obvious this was mental fatigue and not physical. A long season has many of these games and getting up for all of them is always a challenge. Especially against the teams you feel are easy wins.
This is something all players need to deal with if they are going to excel as a team.
Randle looked out of it, IQ was having trouble keeping the same level of focus that he had against Boston and MR looked much less interested. This was an example of a typical let down game where no one got up for it. Except a few that have not played much. Could Thibs have left guys that had more energy, like Deuce, Grimes and Obi in? Sure but that would not have guaranteed a win nor would it allow the main cast to learn an important lesson. Hopefully they take away more from this loss than if they would have won.

But guess it's easier to blame it on the coach using good ole Monday morning arm chair quarterbacking.

Wait a second, at 8:30 in the 4th when McBride and Hartenstein had gotten an 8 point lead back and Thibs brought in Robinson and IQ you didn't start scratching your head? If I know off the top of my head that the Obi/ Robinson two man lineup is the worst on the team, you don't think Thibs does? Absolutely zero surprise that CLiT immediately got a layup.

You make a good point. My point was that this was more about mental fatigue. Something the key guys have to learn how to overcome. Are you saying that Thibs should have deviated from what got him 9 in a row? Would Hart and Mcbribe kept it going through the final 8;30?

I agree that it was mental, though at this stage of the season everyone is tired. Lots of good press, a home game and a 20 win opponent all conspired against the win. I also remember Kelly Oubre publicly campaigning to come to the Knicks a few years back. I'm sure that played a role in the last 5.
