The Knicks have a much higher ceiling along with a boat load of future 1st round picks too.

Offensive Rating = 25th.
Defensive Rating = 21st.
Net Rating = 26th.
Turnover Percentage = 26th.

Please stop overrating this Orlando teams "future".

Orlando has mad upside. This team, in it's current form has maxed out it's potential.

How much does IQ get in free agency? How much is he worth here in this role? Thing is that another team should offer him a full MLE and a starting role in the offense. We have middling stars right now that are playing well, but nothing elite. Until we find elite, we are in that 11-20 draft slot. It’s kind of the doldrums. Youth is blocked by middling stars and their high usage so an IQ can’t get the playing time to show out as a Dame Lillard type. Draft picks are middling so they can’t really command a larger role. So, we need a little luck and maybe some smooth dealing to fill in the blanks here and pull this team together.

I kind of feel like the Knicks played a major role in the development of this squad. Last season they destroyed the Magic in the first game and then the Magic came to the Garden and got a huge win. Knicks/ Kemba went into a tailspin after that and never regained their mojo until Brunson signed.

I really thought EF had earned some decent playing time over the last two games. Especially against the Magic I would have liked to see him start the 2nd and 4th quarters.

Seems like the scouting report was "Let RJ shoot 3's" I guess it only kind of worked (3-8) though I'm not sure how to figure the banked in one. Pretty tight line between poor shooting (2-8) and good shooting (3-8). RJ's 2-8 on 2's was ugly but to his credit he looked to assist more in the 4th. I think he had a few good passes that obi wasn't able to convert.

Overall, great team win.

I get what you are saying and you make very good points that have to be considered.
However, this sounds like same argument that Boston Celtic fans were giving just two years ago.
No one can predict what the future is but NYM is responding to someone doing so. One who claimed our roster is "maxed out". Ignoring that we are very young, Meaning, there is a higher probability that we are not. I feel there is much more room for growth and we have a team full of guys that have not met there potential. Also disagree with IQ being blocked by "middling ' stars. Feel JB, RJ are an All Star level caliber. Not to mention IQ has had no problem getting plenty of playing time.

Of course getting an elite level player will help but point was that the kids we have, have a much higher possible level. Think we will all be surprised. If we are patient.

Not the same. Everyone acknowledged that the Celtics were underachieving at the time. In the Knicks case, I think most people will tell you the Knicks are playing at their highest possible ceiling.

Huh? Robinson out. RJ, Grimes and IQ working to get more consistent. Obi trying to get back to pre injury shooting. Deuce just starting to gain some offensive confidence.
Agree that we have to add better bench pieces. But no way we are playing at our highest possible level.

Saying Boston was underachieving is based on retrospective views. At the time they went 36-36, you would find few fans or any Boston media that had your sentiment. It was quite the opposite, one filled with chants to break up the top three.
